side note: after seeing peoples claims in this thread with those really high numbers (i.e. the 30+ movies per week claims) i personally don't really think they are seeing that many movies especially over many years time frame as even 30 movies a week that's averaging at least 4+ movies PER DAY and i can't imagine that would be easy to sustain for years which means i would naturally call BS for the easy majority of people claiming this (even though it could be possible but seems quite unlikely for a high percentage of people out there). no one was claiming that. this thread is asking per month.

I think i watch 3-4 on average. 3-4 sounds about right to me. Honestly, I watch more TV than movies.

The question is per month not per week.

For years and years it was 50-something per month on average. At least one film per day, two as often as not, and when I'd have the time for it, I'd watch three. Keep in mind that I mostly watch genre films, and I've seen a lot of older genre films, so the average running time was actually a bit less than 90 minutes. If you're watching old B films, you can easily see a couple in two to two and a half hours. There are films like Murder by Television and Night Mail that are only 53 minutes long, for example, and I've seen tons and tons of thrillers, horror, mystery, crime, comedy, western, SciFi, action, etc. from the 30s through 50s. (I'm just specifying that era because that was the era with tons of B genre films that were closer to 60-something minutes as an average running time.) I've seen a bunch of silent films, too, and of course plenty of those are short, but we start getting into a gray area there of what counts as a feature if we go back far enough, before that was more standardized.
Anyway, so I watched that many films regularly from the mid 70s until just a couple years ago. (I started watching films in the later 60s, but not that many on average until the mid 70s.)
In the last couple years, my average has gone way down. And for the first time in my life, from sometime in December until just a couple weeks ago, I didn't watch a single film. My average for the last couple years has been closer to 15 or so per month. I'd like to get back to watching at least a film per day, but I don't know if I'll go back to an average of more than that.
The vast majority of my watching has always been new-to-me films, too, so I've seen a shitload of films in my life.
