Something made a lasting impression years ago. I was watching the morning news. I think it was CBS and I think it was Harry Smith interviewing a guy who worked in the rodeo. I wasn't really paying attention at first. Smith, I suppose it was, had asked the guy about why he worked in the rodeo given the danger. The man replied, "You can die just sitting on your front porch."
My own attitude from my earliest years has always been that the universe doesn't owe me anything. I generally assume that people do their best to avoid dropping a piano on me, but I suppose accidents might happen. I consider myself ready to meet my maker, whatever that means, at any time. I keep my accounts in order to the best of my abilities. You should not take this to mean that I am reckless. I am very careful. I follow all reasonable cautions. My bathroom is always stocked with first aid and disinfectants. I employ them as appears sensible.
I realize though that there are no guarantees. I never panic anyway. Should one day it become obvious that death approaches, I believe my attitude will be that it was going to happen some time or other.

I don't like the idea of not existing so I plan to fight the threat any time it appears, while also having the attitude that, since I know it's inevitable, I hope I'll have the peace to accept the things I cannot change and whatnot. As for Covid-19, it mostly seems like a deadlier flu, made worse by there currently being no vaccine. I'm trying my best not to contract it, while knowing that, being a healthy man in his mid-30s, it probably won't be life threatening if I do. My state's only had a few cases so far, but I worry as I have two concerts I'm planning on attending in the upcoming months, so here's hoping the virus is gone by spring/summer.

I’m not worrying dying from it or even catching it. What worries me is this crisis has revealed just how gullible and ignorant most Americans are. I knew it was bad, but didn’t realize it was this bad. We have a moron in the White House attempting to captain this thing using Trump Logic.

I do believe the Covid-19 is a risk. We need to try to avoid it of course, if we can. Most things have a way of working themselves out with little help from us. Nothing lasts forever, not even a virus.

If one goes to the website: www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/cases-in-us.htmldaily numbers are available for the United States. The numbers for influenza are far higher; more cases are reported in the United States so far than Coronavirus. The case fatality rate of flu is less than Coronavirus, but more people get the flu, so that means more people die if it.

It's also worth noting that the death rate of Coronavirus increases exponentially with age: www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/coronavirus-age-sex-demographics/ For anyone under 50 the death rate isn't that much higher than the flu, and even for those between 50-70 the death rate is quite low. It's really only once you get over 70 that it's a pretty major health threat.

I figured there would have actually been more (we're right next to Los Angeles)

I'm concerned there will be more pain and suffering from the panic and long lingering impacts caused by that panic than the virus itself.
