Anyone else fear that theaters, especially independent and/or small-town ones, are in danger if closing for good due to lost revenue after all these anticipated movies keep getting delayed? In my case, I have exactly one local theater. If it were to go under, I'd be screwed.

I doubt one theater will be closed for good over all this. All the theaters are in the same boat right now.

I doubt that since this whole thing is just for the time being. Nobody in their right mind would shut them down because of an unrelated cause.

Decided to see a movie, in the lobby right now . Place is a ghost town. Nobody at the concession stand, not even workers. The movie I'm seeing (the Hunt) is starting in about 15 minutes, and there are only three tickets sold besides mine. (I checked on the Atom Tickets app to see how many seats are open.) I decided to check on the Atom app for other movies (thinking maybe it's just my movie that isn't getting much business), and none of them appear to have many seats taken. Onward has about 6 seats taken, Sonic like two seats. Yes, it's a matinee show, but I come here a lot and it's not usually like this. And keep in mind, there are NO reported Covid-19 cases in the county I live in.
Maybe it's a fluke.

Theatres will probably try to show classics, & yet ppl just don't seem in the mood for group settings.

No. Once this is all over business will be booming again I’m sure. That’s almost like saying are conventions in trouble? No. Things are gonna get back to normal. Then we’ll look back and realized how much we overacted.

Still pretty sparse when I came out at around 6:30. A few workers were milling about.

Honestly this probably helped theaters more with all the delays. Mulan I can see being a hit now!!!

No, though they may have to lower their prices, limit their hours, and layoff people until the virus fears blows over.
