Breaking Bad - Season 5 - Episode 3 I forgot how bad Season 5 (Final Season) sucked - after Gus died Forgot this only lasted 5 seasons - they should have done what The Walking Dead did - just keep reintroducing new bad guys every season and stretched it for like 20 years The last rewatch I did I stopped after Season 4. Season 5 was definitely more than ok for the most part but I found the biker gang a bit of a poor substitute for Gus. I thought the end of Season 4 was a perfect finish for the show if it hadn't been renewed. This is exactly how I felt (and do the same about The Walking Dead certain seasons)
The bad guys in Season 5 - were not built up enough - we didn't get to know them that much - and they were a very poor substitute for Gus
I have this same problem with Hellraiser II: Hellbound

I think it maybe stretched creditability for me that the biker gang could run the operation with the same efficiency as Gus. Having said that - great as the show was - I always thought Gus having to rely on the unstable duo was also a bit much.
I think a lot of people are happy with season 5 as they don't like it ending on a Walt win at the end of season 4. Personally I think the final reveal that he had poisoned the kid with the flower in his garden was an awesome finish!

I didn't like that Walt died - I wanted him to win I kinda did too. But I think they ended it the right way. How about this -
A cliffhanger so to speak where Walt frees Jesse
Walt also escapes
Show ends with a caption at the bottom of the screen - "1 year later" - Jesse is hiding out in Alaska - phone rings - and he picks up the phone and we hear a voice on the other end - 'Jesse....it's me - we need to talk' (i.e. it's Walt) - cue Breaking Bad theme
Credits roll
Eh?
Eh?

Meh... not for me. I liked that it had a real ending. And the show is sort of structured like a success story but also a tragedy at once. Everything had to come to an end for him. He ruined everyone around him and then ultimately did one less than terrible thing at the end. I think that was the right way to go.

I watched #Alive, a new Korean zombie movie on Netflix. A "low-key" zombie movie if you will - a guy is trapped in his apartment complex with little food and water when the zombie apocalypse hits. "Train to Busan" it ain't, but I thought it was entertaining enough.

Does it have subtitles?
Or is it dubbed?
If it's dubbed I'll give it a shot - can't read subtitles while watching a movie - I want to do as less work as humanly possibly
I tried that 'Train to Busain' or whatever it was called that is free on my package and has high scores and is a zombie flick - was so disappointed it had subtitles

I watched this also. Agreed, I found it sufficiently decent.

I watched it in Korean with English subtitles (even though I don't understand a word of Korean, I always prefer subtitles to dubbing). Netflix very often has the option of an English dub. I don't know in this case, you'd have to check.

Game of Thrones and Sopranos are free right now
Never saw the whole thing of either
On Season 3 of Game of Thrones - watched the previous 2 seasons months ago when they they were both free
Seems a little all over the place - or maybe it's just been awhile since I saw seasons 1&2
Is Season 3 a stinkfest indeed? Or is just that I haven't seen it in awhile and can't remember the faces/plot/schemes?

I don't remember what was happening in season 3, but in my opinion the quality remained pretty high until season 7.
*** Edit ***
I just looked up season 3. There's one episode in the latter part of it that is widely regarded as one of the best, if not THE best, in the entire series, so hang in there! And tell us what you thought of it after you've watched it. You'll know which one I am talking about when you see it.

I tend to do this with shows I'm not highly invested in if they don't have my full attention -
i.e. - I'm having a hard times keeping up with who is on who's side - who's whose brother/sister/father/uncle - who's in which clan, etc etc - since there's like 7 clans
I think the 2 mains ones are the 'Lannisters' with the midget and the Starks - but then there's the hot blonde chick with the dragons and the stories centered on her have been so booooooorrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrinnngggggggggggggg - and then there's this clan - I have no idea who they are - they just burned some leeches in a fire pit and there were some spirits flying around earlier or something - and then another clan with the fat kid who defends the giant winter gate - show is just all over the place.........The Walking Dead it is not

I am bored at work so I will try to sum it up for you.
The Targaryen family were the rulers for centuries. Some twenty years ago, the last Targaryen king was deposed in a revolution, and practically his entire family was killed. The new king was Robert Baratheon.
The blonde chick with the dragons is Daenerys Targaryen, the last of the Targaryen family. She was a baby when the revolution took place, so in order to save her from being eliminated along with all the rest of the Targaryens, she was smuggled out of Westeros (which is the large island where most of the story takes place) to the mainland, where she is now. She was offered in marriage to a warlord who subsequently died, and then she inherited his army. Her ultimate goal is to return to Westeros and claim the throne which she believes is rightfully hers.
King Robert Baratheon was married to a Lannister woman. The Lannisters are the richest clan in the country. When he died, his oldest son (Joffrey) became king – but this was disputed because of rumours that he was not Robert’s son but the result of an affair that his wife (Queen Cersei) had with her own twin brother, Jaime Lannister. Robert’s brothers (Stannis and Renly) didn’t accept Joffrey as king and each declared himself the true king. Stannis soon killed Renly, and now he is at war with Joffrey.
The Stark family are the rulers of the north. The head of the family was Ned Stark, who was King Robert’s friend and counselor. When Robert died (or was killed), the new king Joffrey accused Ned Stark of treason and had him executed. As a result, his son Robb (now head of the family) declared independence for the north and went to war against King Joffrey and his Lannister supporters.
The thing with the leeches and the fires is that Stannis Baratheon is following a new religion that is based on fire worship and that has some supernatural elements.
The giant winter gate is part of a wall that separates the “civilised” part of the island of Westeros, so to speak, from the wild northern part, where savages live and where the undead roam. This is not to be mistaken for the territory ruled by the Stark family, which is far north of the capital but just south of the wall. The wall is guarded by the Night Watch, a brotherhood of soldiers from all over the country. Jon Snow, Ned Stark’s bastard son, is part of the Night Watch. They are in fear of a big attack by the “wildlings”, which are the “savages” who live north of the wall.

Appreciate the write up
I'm on Season 4 Episode 1
Seems to me the best characters are Geoffery and the midget
For everything I've heard about the hot blonde chick - for 4 seasons - I can't stand her character - what's even worse is her Charlton Heston from Planet of the Apres look-a-like protector - it's just bad TV - every season her traveling the desert looking an army - who turn out to be peasants following her
I need something dramatic to happen - lost as why the one Stark boy left his love he found to go back to the Ice Palace with the giant wall

Whoa, WHAT? Did you skip over the last few episodes of Season 3? Were the events at the end of Season 3 not dramatic enough for you? When I first watched Game of Thrones I felt the same way as you about the character of Daenerys and her story lines. Upon re-watching though, I appreciated her more.

i don't understand why we keep hearing - 'Well that's the end of the Stark family' - aren't there liking 20 of them still floating around out there?
we need more dramatic scenes like the one above -

The "Red Wedding", as it became known, was a huge shock when the episode aired. People who had read the books and knew that it was coming set up cameras to record the reaction from their friends and family who had no idea. YouTube is full of these reaction videos.

He was the best character with the midget
I'm thinking it was his former fiance who poisoned him -

I'm on Season 4 Episode 9
Little lost as to why John Snow is fighting his old girlfriend's clan
Obviously I missed something.
OK - so Snow was the leader of that huge Winter Gate in the beginning - but then he left to be on his own (I'm probably forgetting some facts) and met his girlfriend -
Then he left her and she was shooting arrows at him on his horse
Why did he return to that giant Winter Gate in the North and why is his old girlfriends clan attacking him (is her clan part of the Lannisters or on their side?)
*** Edit - sometimes I'm multitasking while I'm watching shows and doing things like 5 things at once - I've tried googling answers to some of these questions but the answers lead me in circles talking about characters I'm not aware of (or maybe I am but can't place a face with a name)
