Donnie Brasco This is how you make a Mob Movie Is that the one where the infiltrated guy beats up the waiter in the Japanese restaurant who insists on him removing his shoes (which he can't do because he's wearing a wire around his ankles) and then justifies it to his mob companions by saying that the Japs killed his father and he was not going to take his shoes off for no stinking Jap?
That's it.....

A bit different from how I remembered it. I thought it was Johnny Depp doing the beating, not the Mafia guys. He only joins in at the end, even though he was the one who instigated it. YouTube has existed for what? Twenty years now? And yet I am still amazed at how it has seemingly everything!

If they insist on making terrible Die Hard sequels, can they please just title it Old Habits Die Hard? Is that so much to ask? I also heard they're making another Lethal Weapon. Murtaugh was going to retire in the first one!! That was 1987!! What are they going to do, solve crimes at the retirement home? Stop. Please stop, I'm begging you. EDIT: I can't seem to find one that I can post here. Oh well, I ruined it. That trailer's exactly what I thought of when Rey mentioned another Lethal Weapon. Anywho, watching season 10 of Shameless before I start watching the 11th and final which is on now. I don't think anyone will ever say this is one of the best shows ever, but I'll be damned if it isn't entertaining as fuck.

There better be some giant payoff at the end like a big giant sea creature like the Creature From the Black Lagoon - or a Kraken kills them ............
** Edit - I do have a prediction though - the younger guy is really dead. Apparently he used to be a 'Timber Man' - i.e. worked with trees, was a tree climber perhaps not just a lumberjack. There's a scene in this movie where he falls from the Lighthouse.
He probably died during a tree accident falling out of a tree - perhaps alcohol was involved - seems to be one the films central themes - i.e. the descent into alcoholism - he's either stuck in hell or purgatory

As I suspected. Also, you can't pay attention properly to a movie if you're gonna interrupt your viewing to post a complaint about it. But it wouldn't have made a difference. I was pretty sure you wouldn't jibe with this one.

What a stinker that was
Let's put something a little better on -
Stephen King's Graveyard Shift - not comparable to his short story - but an enjoyable watch none the less

Well.. I don't know how far along you are... But not every movie that's a little outside of the mainstream has to take to place in purgatory or have one character who's actually imaginary. That's everyone's theory for every movie ever.

"He's actually dead at the end." "So and so isn't real." "They're in purgatory." I've even heard that theory for Up In The Air.

I can think of the Sixth Sense
The Others
Hellraiser VI: Hellseeker
I think Jacobs Ladder he was dead correct?

"He's actually dead at the end." "So and so isn't real." "They're in purgatory." I've even heard that theory for Up In The Air. I imagine it started from the one/two punch of Fight Club and The Sixth Sense in 1999. After that everyone thought it was so smart to imagine every movie was doing exactly the same thing and that they'd be smart if they could decipher that. I remember people going on about that same old fucking theory with No Country for Old Men, and how the Javier Bardem was actually in Tommy Lee Jones' imagination because he represents the cruelty and the chaos of the changing universe. That whole thing was fine in those other movies, but that's not a Cormac McCarthy or Coen Brothers kind of thing. At some point the mainstream online pop movie analysts had a hard time understanding that a story or character could represent an idea or theme without having to literally be that. For some reason they don't accept subtext and need everything to be literal text. Applying that to Up in the Air is pretty hilariously stupid.

I watched “The Rock” last night. Pretty decent action movie considering it was directed by Michael Bay. Sean Connery is good as always, and Nicolas Cage hadn’t started his descent into straight-to-DVD land. Quite entertaining. I still don’t buy the Ed Harris’ character’s motivation (a proud military man coming up with a scheme that could result in the death of hundreds of thousands of his fellow citizens? Hmmm...) but I can live with that.

Usually watch it as a Double Feature with Con Air

Great film on BBC the other night: The Wife (2017) with Glenn Close and Jonathan Pryce as a married couple who travel to Stockholm when Pryce wins the Nobel prize for literature. Features flashbacks to their early days. It’s easy to see the big reveal coming, but it didn’t detract the from my enjoyment in any way. Terrific performances by the leads. www.imdb.com/title/tt3750872/reference
