Watched a few episodes of a network game show last night, which seems like an ancient thing to say, but it was fun. It's called The Hustler, it's on ABC, and hosted by Craig Ferguson, who I'm happy to see again. 6 people, one person is a liar and everyone has to figure out who it is over the course of getting clues about about person and answering trivia questions as a group to win more money while the 'Hustler' knows all the answers but has to conceal that they are specific to him/her. It's a simple but enjoyable game and there's something comforting about seeing a new and entertaining half hour game show. Looks intense!

Hey Look -
I get we all have different tastes - too each their own
I've watched many gems based on other posters recs in this thread
Just watched 'Sexy Beast' which was regarded by some to be one of the greatest gangster movies ever and is regarded as a Top 15 British Film of all-time in a poll I just read online
What a stinker.
By God - I was contemplating turning this off a half hour in - decided to stick with it - contemplated turning it off an hour in - stuck with it til the end
Oof - such boredom with thick accents -
Worst Movie Ever.

Again... what a weirdo. At least it's an original take, I guess. The idea that the 80s had cool hair, great clothes, superior acting, and better music is certainly a bizarre one, but I do have to give you credit for that. 80s movies and the decade in itself absolutely decimate the 70s
It's not even close
Die Hard Lethal Weapon National Lampoons Vacation The Breakfast Club Three Amigos Friday the 13th There's literally too many iconic movies to mention
I can't name 10 from the 70s
In terms of pop culture, the 80s was the greatest decade of all time. It's not even close.

In terms of pop culture, the 80s was the greatest decade of all time. It's not even close. Agreed
I myself look at the 1980s as pretty much the dawn of time
Kind of like how people refer to 'BC' and 'AC' - i.e. 'Before Christ' and 'After Christ'
In other words life before the 80s is kind of ancient and archaic to me and I don't really 'Get It'
90s is the greatest decade of All-Time; however life pretty much evolved in the 80s
That being said - I do have an appreciation for some movies that are prior to 1980. The Universal Monster Movies (i.e. Frankenstein, The Wolf Man Dracula, etc), JAWs, Night of the Living Dead - that's all I can think of at the present moment.

Free 'On Demand' -
Finishing up -
Revenge of the Nerds
What a classic that still holds up today.
I just noticed something though - Lewis actually raped Betty - wonder how that would play in today's world
Shaun of the Dead up next - the greatest Horror Comedy of All-Time

I keep meaning to see Juan of The Dead... Heard good things about it.

Shaun for me though - I love zombies
I actually consider Hot Fuzz a comedy/horror since it involves a cult/murders

I rewatched 'White Noise: The Light' yesterday evening.
Better than I remembered. I enjoyed it more second time around.
Bit of a Final Destination vibe to it, ie. cheating death via premonitions isn't a good idea.

Schmaltzy in places, but overall I thought it hangs together OK.

Just noticed Angel Heart with Robert DeNiro and Mickey Rourke is free right now too - have never seen it - always gets recommended to me when I'm asking about movies about The Devil - think I'll watch this

You'll probly like Angel Heart. Probably more so if you actually watch it and don't just have it on in the background, but it's a good time passer.

I wasn't sold on Michael Keaton as the lead, but supernatural horror is my bag, and I like how it starts out with normal happy colourful suburban life, then it becomes more grey and monotone as the film progresses.

Could have been touching, but Michael Keaton couldn't save Jack Frost either.

It's just Tom Hanks as Tom Hanks etc. You know exactly the character you're getting when they're in a film. They've no range.

I can kinda see where you're coming from with Tom Hanks, but the thing he does he does well. Nicolas Cage is generally a shit show.

Tom Hanks was in Bosom Buddies, The Burbs, Forsest Gump to Road to Perdition and Cast Away - that's range to me
