The day I read your post I confused it with another movie. I just came here to ask how did you like this movie by the director of 12 Angry Men? At the time of posting I realised you mentioned The Social Network and not Network (1976).

Last night I made my 500th Amazon digital purchase. Of those 500 purchases almost 400 are movies and a little more than a hundred are TV shows. There are about 100 more combined movies and TV shows I would like to purchase. The end goal being never having to pay for a streaming service ever again. I will have everything I like on Amazon until I die.
Edit: The 500th purchase was RoboCop 2.
Pro tip: Never pay full price for a digital movie on Amazon. Digital movie prices fluxuate daily. $10 and $15 dollar movies will randomly go down to $5, totally unadvertised. So I check my want list daily. Yesterday RoboCop 2 and Species were both $5. Two days ago Species was $15. It is a bit of a pain in the ass checking the price of every movie on your want/watch list, but it's worth it to get them at a discounted price. Amazon does not advertise when most digital movies go on sale.

I have like over 300 DVDs in storage - I've never paid for a digital movie or show as far as to own one (rent one yes) - I like to have the physical DVD/cover.
It's like books too - I own a Nook (like Kindle) - but I enjoy having the actual physical book.

I'm that way with books, but I can't remember the last time I bought a blu ray (other than championship swag).

I still have a DVD collection of about 200 movies, but I think it's just a matter of time before I sell it off.

I just finished The Whisperer in Darkness (2011). The story is a bit different than H. P. Lovecraft's story. I would say it was good for one watch but nothing special.

I watched "Joe versus the Volcano" last night, for the first time since its original release 30 years ago. I remembered very little of it. Strange movie but ultimately enjoyable, if for nothing else, the for how adorable Meg Ryan was.

Watched a Youtube Clip this morning titled 'Top 10 Hand Held Video Horror Movies' (or something like that)
Grave Encounters was in the list - checked to see if it's free on Netflix (may be Tubi I'm watching it on - I have Comcast Cable with all these free apps) - and it is.
Halfway through it. Ain't bad. Paranormal Ghost Hunters go to an old mental ward to spend the night - you can pretty much guess what happens.

Here's what's on the tv in the bedroom: Tiger King, Scarface, Dead Set (series from 08), Forensic Files, Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol.
In the living room: Ozark, Ink Master, Better Call Saul, To Live and Die in LA, Ready Player One, a couple other old movies.

I had never heard of it but since Charlie Brooker was attached, I checked it out. Not bad, mostly fun. Ozark season 3 was definitely better than season 2 (vastly better) but still not up to par with the first season, at least not for me. I don't have cable and Better Call Saul isn't on Hulu, where can one watch it elsewhere?

Dead set does the super quick edits when the zombies attack so you can't see anything, every cut is a split second so you can't tell what's going on, I absolutely hate it. Not sure if I can stick with it. It was like taht on Taken. I just watched all three movies and I like the concept but anytime there was an actual fight, the cuts are so quick you literally can't tell what's going on (same with the Bourne movies which I hate). Better Call Saul season 5 is the worst in my opinion, I know I'm in the minority but I'm finding it incredibly boring. Ozark is just keeping my interest enough to go to the next episode but if they ended it, I wouldn't care. No great TV series out now to binge watch, that's for sure. Looking forwad to the next season of Barry which I recommend.

I'm on Season 1 Episode 7 - it's nice to see the ol' Breaking Bad cast back together in a sense - Saul, Mike, Tuco - but have to be honest I'm bored out of my mind.

Family movie night last night, we watched Jurassic Park. My son was imitating the T-Rex afterwards, it was pretty great. It was a fun rewatch but all these years later there are so many problems with the screenplay. Of course the science (everything from the tech jargon which was nonsense to begin with to the dinosaur biology theories) is completely outdated at this point, but it still felt like it had more to say than the hollow Jurassic World franchise entries today.

Brings up an interesting question of what movies did you previously love but as you got older they didn't age well and lost their re-watch value because you matured into an adult.
I'm scouring Netflix right now looking for a new horror to watch.

Ok - found one I've never seen - this goes back to the Top 10 Found Footage Horror Movies clip I found on Youtube -
'The Taking of Deborah Logan' - anybody of see/hear of it?
Watched Grave Encounters and The Last Broadcast yesterday - I'm pretty much a sucker for hand held cam/found footage movies.

Clint’s “Firefox” comes to mind. I loved it as a teenager during its original theatrical run, so when it was released on DVD I bought it right away, and couldn’t believe how crappy it seemed now that my taste is movies had evolved.

Have you watched the zombie show Black Summer? I really liked it. Should be on Netflix. Hopefully another season is coming.
If you don't mind subtitles there's a pretty good French Canadian zombie film from a couple years back called Les Affames. It might be listed under it's English title of Ravenous.

I watched that a way's back, in one of those 'it's-Friday-night-I'm-going-to-watch-whatever-random-shit-I-can-find' type of nights. It wasn't bad, not particularly memorable, but not memorably bad either.

I watched John Ford’s “Fort Apache” last night (John Wayne, Henry Fonda, Shirley Temple). I am not sure if I had seen it before or not. The conflict between the Henry Fonda and the John Wayne characters felt familiar, but large parts of the movie rang no bells at all.
Anyway, I didn’t like it very much. For such a classic Western, it spends (I feel tempted to use the verb “waste” instead) a lot of screentime on the romance between the young officer and the commander’s daughter, and on silly comic relief scenes of recruits and drunk sargents.
