Might actually be Sam's Boat here. Close to home, close to where I worked, always meet my friend there or at Mangia Pizza. Good lunch deal until recent price raises. I always get the mixed grill with great onion rings and steamed broccoli/cauliflower. Beer on tap and a waitress who's always happy to see us. Great patio when the weather is good. It is a chain out of Houston, but I only know the one. LUNCH MIXED GRILL Marinated chicken + shrimp with grilled bell peppers, onions + mushrooms www.samsboat.com/

The Tippecanoe Restaurant in South Bend, IN. (in the former Studebaker Mansion) and a small place in Lynwood(?) Il. called Eugene's . This was when I lived in the Chicagoland area, I no longer eat out.

Nuts : The Tippecanoe is not a little place, its a very elegant and pricy restaurant but the food was also so good. When I would go, you usually needed a reservation and if Notre Dame football was playing that weekend, it was almost impossible to get in, the alumni would reserve months in advance. They used to have a wonderful Sunday champagne brunch, a bunch of us girls would often make the 1 1/2 hour drive just to go to that brunch. Eugene's was a small but elegant restaurant I think it was in Lynwood, Il., it was owned by a Cordon Bleu chef and he made the best chateaubriand I ever had. It closed sometime in the 80's when he died.

I think it might be Beefsteak Charlie's. Used to go to that place (which is no longer around) a lot when I was a kid.

Are we including multiple locations of the same chain restaurant? If so, itβs probably the Olive Garden for me. I travel a lot for work and when I look for a place to have dinner I often end up at the nearest Olive Garden. Itβs a bit of a contradiction for me, because in principle I prefer local places to chain restaurants, but on the other hand with chain restaurants I know exactly what to expect in terms of the menu, quality and prices.
If we are talking one specific location, then I suppose it would be this Chinese place near me, although I havenβt eaten in there in years β I always grab it to go.

Maybe a small mom and pop Mexican restaurant
Hope someday I return.
We are staying away from all restaurants of course.

dating back to my birth in 1982, probably sizzler.
these days, you don't really see sizzler around unless you live on the west coast. being a Californian living in Pennsylvania, I dined at one when I went back to my hometown in August

nutsberryfarm π: mine would be a Chinese restaurant not too far from where I live. But things being what they are, I'm not going there now, nor in the foreseeable future.
*edit to add: Ivar's is great! The small chain-like stores are good, too. Excellent fish 'n' chips.

Restaurants? I think I remember those. Places where you would go, sit down at a table, someone would bring you a leaflet of sorts with the different foods and drinks that they served (there was a special word for it, does anybody remember it? I think it started with an "M"), you would choose what you wanted, they would prepare it for you and bring it to your table, and after you finished you would pay for it. Is that what you are talking about?

I have a "trick" answer:
My friends and I played "bar trivia" at the same restaurant ( Joey B's ) about 40 times a year, for about 5 years straight, so that's about 200 visits ( we won about 100 times )
