Too lazy to do a precise inventory, but some frozen pizzas and tv dinners, some ground beef and boneless chicken breasts, a couple microwavable burritos (though I heat them in the oven), eggs, milk, juice, some soda. Oh, and a couple packages of turkey bacon.

I am going to sound like a hoarder! A lot of this stuff is from a nice friend of mine who moved out of state and left me his pantry goods. Well, some of it. Hope all has been well!!! 2 dozen eggs 4 avocados 4 blocks of tempeh 10 single serving yogurts 4 bags of shredded cheese 1 package of turkey lunchmeat 10 assorted iced tea/juice/V8 beverages 8 frozen fish fillets (Mahi Mahi and Tilapia) 4 frozen veggie burgers 2 bags frozen pineapple 1 bag frozen cauliflower 2 bags frozen peas 1 big jar applesauce 3 jars peanubutter 5 cans refried beans 2 cans corn 2 cans coconut milk 4 cans diced tomatoes 4 cans vegetarian chili 2 big cans of shredded green jackfruit 5 assorted bags of dry noodles 8 cans tuna 10 tins sardines and mackeral 2 jars of pasta sauce 2 boxes of noodle mac & cheese mix 1 bottle BBQ sauce 1 bottle olive oil 2 serving size containers of bone broth 6 cartons of soup (maybe 4 servings per carton) 2 tomatoes 5 bananas that are brown (they aren't bad, apparently Lysol turns the skin brown) other random condiments lots of Perrier and Peligrino bottles random protein shake mix enough wine for Andre the Giant lots of salt and spices a fifth of Cuervo Gold (this bottle is from Mexico, so 18 is the drinking age on this bottle) so i gotta ask, what are refried beens??? i am discovering so many new things.. exciting. thanks for sharing your fridge intimate secrets ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

I was just thinking about your post not more than 15mins ago when I was making breakfast and looked in the freezer and saw a few things I forgot I had. Some vege sausages, peas, spicy potato fritter things from an Indian supermarket, small tub rum raisin ice cream and a full frozen packet of wholemeal bread and raisin bread.
Nothing to get too excited over in fridge, apart from usual like eggs, butter, cheese, 1\2lt milk, a few chocolate bars, some old loose salad mix, a couple of tomatoes, an avo, a small tub of olives. Oh yeah, and half a small pot of sour cream and salsa, which I regret buying, because I had Nachos for dinner 2 nights on a row over the weekend and made myself feel a little clogged up and sick and then got into panic mode that I had coronavirus.... ![(rofl)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/rofl.png) . Oh yeah! A few condiments and spreads.
I usually shop as I go and will continue to do so. Did buy more new potatoes than usual yesterday and when I joked with the girl at the checkout yesterday that this is my panic buying, the lady behind me said that is all you need, potatoes and that she would be happy with that.
hmm sour cream and salsa sounds good, would trade for my can of apricots ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) I know what you mean with the panic mode about having it, I was at a doctors a dew days ago (not for corona ![:))](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/cheesy.png) and he asked me if I ever have heart palpitations or chest pain and I said “no” cause I dont. Except now I do every day and cant decide if its heart attack or corona or heart attack from corona thats currently killing me ![:))](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/cheesy.png) sounds familiar brother Nalkarj ? ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

Refried beans? I love this type of question!!!! They are pretty much Mexican food. I don't think I would ever make refried beans from scratch. I can only imagine buying them already made, in a can. They are black beans and pinto beans, I think they are cooked, then mushed up, then cooked again. Basically they have the texture of mashed potatoes. I am very sure if I showed these to a Mexican they would be horrified and say "That is not refried beans", but I don't know anyone from Mexico who would cook with beans from a can for anything.
So no, I wouldn't just eat them out of the can like a hobo or something. At the very least you can put them in a bowl, add diced tomato, shredded cheese and a little diced onion, then heat it up so the cheese melts. Or make Huevos Rancheros. Good thing we are not on the Food & Drink board and we are talking about prepping meals during an apocalypse instead - because my recipe may not be up to their standards. But, you would slightly cook a tortilla so it is a little firm and crispy, spread the refried beans on the tortilla, heat it up while frying a couple eggs. Then top the tortilla/beans with the eggs, then maybe sliced avocado and salsa or just hot sauce.
I have everything except the tortillas - but there is no way you're getting me to open up one of my valuable 89 cent cans of anything. Funny thing is now that I bought all of these cans, I feel like it's wasteful to use the canned food until we have gotten to the point where that is all which is available. In fact, anything with any kind of extended shelf life, I am not wasting on the pre-apocalypse. Actually, one of the refried bean cans need to be opened soon. The can is a little crushed and it will cause oxidization and will go bad or cause lead poisoning. So maybe I'll pick up tortilla's and make Huevos Rancheros.
They can also be used in bean burritos. Or more specifically, Enchiritos. What are Enchiritos? A retro Taco Bell menu item, which does not exist in Mexico... and is fun to try to replicate. In fact, I love making homemade versions of fast food staples, with slightly better quality ingredients. I can do homemade McDonald's style Filet-O-Fish like you could not believe. I even make two at a time, seeing as they are designed as a menu item where you order two of them to make a proper serving. LOL. I haven't eaten real fast food in years!
Hope that helps, in case you end up in a situation where refried beans are part of your meal!

Buy it, then eat it. yes thats my normal procedure as well, but at this time its highly desirable to ensure fewer people on tje streets and in stores so instead of going every 48 hours u could go every 72 or 145 hours if u kept something in your fridge. do u not trust yourself, and are worried u would eat if if its there and go over your self imposed limit?

We panic bought a little, lol. Just the usual, eggs, OJ, Milk, bread, syrup. that sounds reasonable. I am now down to: 1. no more yogurt (my preferred kind - unflavored - was sold out so I am waiting for restocking) 2. 3 slices of bread left 3. bag of pasta and rice still intact 4. some cheese 5. minced garlic to be honest, it now starts feeling kinda exciting (for me personally, regarding my own living situation), I have never faced externally enforced hunger/shortage of food in stores, and I wonder how well I would adapt/not adapt. given how poorly I adapt to the cinemas being closed (*screams internally) I wonder. Well I guess we will see in the next few days.
