Same here. Only have one theater, and it's an AMC. When AMC shut down it's locations, obviously my theater shut down.

All are in my area. We're anticipating governor's orders that soon all non-essential businesses will have to be closed. That's already happened in nearby Pennsylvania.

I know people here are resistant to digital media, but this is a pretty good argument for it. Theaters are closed. Amazon's not shipping blurays. Looks like studios are going to start putting movies out digitally as 2 day rentals for $20. This is probably a preview of our future.

What is their justification?

Onwards will be on Disney+ in the first week of April. I think many studios and streaming services will follow, perhaps even putting movies on their services that haven't been in cinemas at all yet. I think this might change the way streaming works, even after this crisis.

What is their justification? If I understand correctly, they're only shipping essential items now, and that they will release a statent as to when non essential items will start shipping again.

My thoughts exactly on seeing "The Hunt" for a $20 dollar rental. I could pay $5 for matinee and get popcorn and a drink for $20. I don't get the theater experience at home and find that price outrageous. There's nothing I want to see THAT bad.

Just wait a couple of weeks, when the edict comes down that all non-essential video streaming is prohibited until further notice (in order to free up bandwidth during the emergency). I don't like to be a "Debby Downer" -- but it's a real possibility.

I feel bad for the movie theaters but this is the future for them. Mass gatherings because of Corona was a nail in the coffin. At home viewing is where it is all going.
