I was thinking the exact same thing. I wouldn't have been opposed to him getting an Oscar nomination for Ghost and/or To Wong Fu.

Really? Now that I think about it you might be right. Cruise always gets flack for lack of range, but he is great when it comes to displaying emotion.

Definitely Tim Roth as well. hmm I guess I always assumed people think Tim Roth is a good or very good actor. Anyone who doubts his talent should watch Meantime.

Matthew McConaughey before his comeback. Everyone just forgot about his earlier work after his streak of bad movies started. Frailty, Amistad, A Time to Kill, Thirteen Conversations About One Thing etc.

Brad Pitt has a lot of range and I don't even know how that can be disputed. He even has range within his crazy performances. Twelve Monkeys and Kalifornia and Fight Club are 3 performances that are nothing alike imo.

Matthew Lillard Donnie Wahlberg I haven't seen enough from them to know for sure, though I always thought Donnie Walhberg was a better dramatic actor than Mark. The Sixth Sense for example. He leaves quite an impression in just one scene. I have never understood the divisiveness of Matthew Lillard's performance in Scream.

My point is most people haven't seen the movies where Brad Pitt shows off his range and think of him as more of a leading man type.

Matthew McConaughey before his comeback. Everyone just forgot about his earlier work after his streak of bad movies started. Frailty, Amistad, A Time to Kill, Thirteen Conversations About One Thing etc. Yeah he was always a good actor, but just kept doing all those romantic comedies for years and not really showcasing his talent.

Yeah, he's better in 2 minutes in TSS than Mark has ever been imo. Lillard is brilliant in Scream. I recommend SLC Punk if you want to see him give a more dramatic performance.

I think Wahlberg is better in Boogie Nights, but I'll agree to an extent. I'll say that he is better in 2 minutes of The Sixth Sense on a dramatic level than Mark has been in most of his movies. Mark is best when doing comedy imo.

Lillard and Linda Cardellini are the only things that make those live-action Scooby-Doo movies watchable imo.
