I happen to really like Once Upon A Time In Mexico but Robert R. seems to make "experimental" films in the sense that some feel less like films and more like actual experiments (releasing a film 100 years after making it, grindhouse double feature with added static, graphic novel filmed in black and white).
Quentin Tarantino made one film about showing grace to violent criminals (Pulp Fiction) and several about showing revenge to racists.

But what's the point you're trying to make?

Quentin Tarantino
Robert Rodruigez hasn't made a good movie in over a decade imo.
