I watched this religiously growing up and it made me a better person, having recorded it off late night tv on to VHS home video. It made me a fan of Sheree Wilson, big Reed Birney, Bruce Campbell, Paul Smith, Brion James ... and introduced me to the great Louise Lasser. The audio-visual design, wow. It even taught me how to dance the charleston.
'We go together like rat in a pack, satisfaction garunteed, or double your money back ...'
Amazing piece of filmmaking, known to have been studied by the Coen Brothers, along with Mike Nichols' massively underappreciated 'The Fortune' (1975) and Richard Brooks' neglected heist picture 'Dollars' (1971).

HATE IT.
It is a boring, dumb, annoying, extremely unfunny mess of a movie imo.

It has some interesting visuals but it is a very bad film in all other respects

I loved it back in 2011. It was like a live-action cartoon, nonstop manic energy.
However, I don't know if I would have the same or similar reaction to it today. A lot with my personality and taste has changed in the intervening period.

As part of the Alex Cox cult film series? I think my copy was recorded from BBC1 as I don't remember it having any intro. It'd be interesting to hear Alex Cox's thoughts on the movie.

I just checked...it wasn't shown as part of Moviedrome..I must've got my copy off BBC1 as well. And indeed, it was a great film.
