eggs are all gone. Although there are a few cartons of egg whites left. yikes! i'm in Nebraska...lots of places are pretty still full here.
Texas here and it makes no sense to hoard eggs. They only last about a month.

Well,I had to go to walmart today (I hate shopping, especially with all this virus shit going on) I called this am re my insulin pens and they were out,but expecting a shipment at 3pm.Called back then and they had 'em so off I went. They had hand soap, not the big refill I usually buy,but one, 1!,softsoap brand little pump jar so I grabbed it,$1.98.I was maybe 3 feet ahead of a lady who wanted the same thing. She said 'I'll give you four dollars for it'. I thought she was joking until she reached for her purse. Now Iv'e been using body wash for hand washing for over a week now,so I didn't want to give it up so I shook my head no.She said 5,I shook no,6,nah,10.10 bucks for a 2 buck item? Damn.I shoulda asked for a hundred just to see a reaction, but I didn't.I told her that anti bacterial doesn't affect a virus, blah blah, use body wash instead, blah blah.I kinda felt bad,but hey, survival of the fittest and all that. So,what was surprising? Cereal.I was gonna get the store version of cheerios, the only cereal I eat.da da da da....empty.The entire aisle of cereal, hot and cold,empty.Barren.While I stood there for a minute or two contemplating the existential dilemma of such a situation a couple more folks stopped at the end of the aisle and grunted or said huh and the 3 or 4 of us stood together hands on chins for a bit,too close together by the standards of the plague rules and just pondered.... What else.No eggs still. No powdered coffee creamer of any sort.Very little coffee.Toilet paper, but only those new mega rolls too big for our old holder, and only in like 8 million roll packages. Milk, but only gallons and I usually buy halves. They did have bottled water and it was flying off the shelf,no easy feat as 40 16.9 bottles of water weigh about 42 lbs (calculated via calculator),a bit much for an old broken down body like mine to lift, let alone fly....like an eagle da da da...Steve Miller flies into my head.... I'm joker i'm a toker i'm a...nevermind. Probably other stuff but I'm done for now. Edit: Oh yeah, the liquor store was open so I got a couple jugs of vodka to disinfect my soul... Did you get your insulin pens??? That's the most important thing. I'm always amazed at people buying bottled water. Unless your tap water is REALLY bad....

Ramen noodles. Not that Catman really wanted any at the moment, but it was quite odd.
Catman was able to find eggs fortunately.

Yes,first thing I got.I agree about bottled water, especially since our tap water is pretty good,it won some sort of award a couple times in the last dozen years.I fill my water bottles with tap water and reuse them until they get too scrunchy, the mrs, however must have the bottled stuff.A couple times I filled hers with tap water and she didn't know the difference.

Nope. I couldn't come up with a good username so I decided to go with stickman but when I signed up on the original IMDB there were 37 other stickmans before me... lol... so I went with stickman38.

Ok so the first available time I had went to Walmart around 6pm Saturday. Freeway was empty, Walmart was not busy. But that's because there was pretty much nada on the side where food/paper products are. I got a pack of tp(because it was the normal time we would need it), mayo, & 2 cans of chicken(we use it in salads). Frozen section was cleaned out of everything-all of it. Yet, fresh veggies/fruit were there-so we got some. The people in the store though is what amazed me, though it's humans, so it shouldn't have. Families, where the parents apparently had to take all their kids-even the teens. Teens who had to put their hands upon everything. As well as groups of teens walking around, one with a dog??? Glad I had my sunglasses on so I could give them all death stares. Was going to go to Metro Market, but decided to go the next morning, after seniors got to roll out. Ah, next morning 8am(store opens at 6, but seniors get 6-8), this is late for me as I prefer when they first open. A few cartons of eggs(they have a list of items one per person & eggs now is one of those). I'm a baker, so just a little peeved at that limit. No milk, buttermilk, cream, etc. Some butter. Hardly any cheese. WTF?!?! And Enigma72-neither place had PB!!!! UGH!!!! The two things my weekends are made up of. If I could bath in them for them to seep into my pores for greater indulgence....I would. Asked the manager, who said those items come in twice a week. I feel as though the stores should list the days the items will be restocked so we don't waste time, nor subject anyone to our tantrums upon learning items are not there. I mean seriously they purposely are closing stores earlier, & opening later to clean and.....restock. Yet again, surprise....many older people, handicapped people, etc, there at 8am. If they don't want the 6am slot, I'll take it. I only say that as I've already heard many say there's no way they get up that early, & won't. I guess I'm just a little more annoyed since my truck for my bakery, has reduced their "small" deliveries to only once every two weeks. And they just decided that. So I have enough eggs for now, considering I don't have any large orders, obviously. But I really hope stores can start getting better inventory sooner rather than later. *this includes cheese & pb

Dish soap...the shelves were completely empty. Of course, no paper products, TP, Kleenex, paper towels, napkins. Very little milk or meat. The produce section was well stocked, but the time before all that was there were onions and winter squash...no potatoes, bananas, lettuces, carrots, etc. NO flour, sugar, powdered or canned milk and very few mixes of any kind.

I went to Walmart this morning with misgivings but WKD needed some things for the yard, I do not want to return for several weeks. They were totally out of paper towels, toilet paper, sanitizer and very low on dairy products. I went to Publix too, they had people sanitizing all the carts. They had some toilet paper and paper towels but limited customers to one package each. They were well stocked on dairy, cat food fresh produce and meat. The soup was getting low. Next week I plan to go only to Publix and Big Lots (I get my litter at Big Lots.)

I'm at a loss to explain the hoarding.......eggs last a long time, but not forever, And the Chickens are not on strike! All the canned veggies gone except the sort that most dislike and we like for instance beets. Meats are all gone, no flour, sugar but they do have sugar substitutes that we use almost exclusively. I did find my husbands favorite bread......all the soft white breads were gone. The stores are making a killing, but they are going to have a problem when all this is over and people can't buy any more because the cupboards are stuffed.
Fortunately before the hoarding started (except for TP) I went to Costco, and bought meat. I have plenty of canned and frozen veggies and fruit. I had a bale + TP, so it wasn't a big deal that costco was out. I wasn't real thrilled when I went shopping last Monday with the shortage of eggs, I did find enough but of course they were the most expensive. The hoarding will probably go away after a few weeks. So have at it ya'all. Its silly but I guess people are panicked.

When I went shopping last week, my grocery store was out of toilet paper, hand sanitizer, sanitizing wipes, eggs, meat, sugar, onions and dried pinto beans. This week I found toilet paper and sanitizing wipes. Onions were available, but still no pinto beans. I managed to find two bags of potatoes, so I kept one and gave one to my mother. Mom hasn't been able to go out since before Christmas. She had pneumonia, but is better now. I've been running errands for her and my aunt. I have to stay healthy.

I hit Shoprite today, more of a side trip for the truly necessary items, vodka and cigarettes.I did notice, just like Walmart a couple weeks ago,the cereal aisle was bare.Still trying to wrap my mind around it. Got some eggs, which I've been sort of rationing, and although I didn't really need it,a single remaining roll of toilet paper. As I grabbed it I had a brief deja vu type thing thinking about the lady at Walmart who went nutso over the last hand soap a week or so ago.
