I wouldn't have A View to a Kill at the bottom nor Diamonds Are Forever in the top 10. The Spy Who Love Me should also be higher.

We actually aren't in a huge amount of disagreement except for a couple major disagreements like Diamonds Are Forever.
I think From Russia With Love is boring, despite being one of the better written movies in the franchise.
I think Die Another Day is one of the more entertaining Bond movies, despite being one of the most ridiculous.
I don't understand what the big deal is about The Spy Who Loved Me, so we are in agreement there. It is one of the dullest in the franchise.
I am not a fan of the franchise in general though. I only like about 8 of them and only slightly like. The only 2 I like more than that are Skyfall and GoldenEye.

Spy Who Loved Me sixth from bottom, what's that about?
Swap it with Diamonds or For Your Eyes only and our top 15 aren't so different.

The Spy Who Loved Me is ranked far too low. Diamonds Are Forever is ranked too high. I personally like You Only Live Twice a bit more than Quantum of Solace. The World is Not Enough is not that bad to be ranked fourth from the bottom; in my opinion, it's fairly middle-tier Bond.

I think The Spy Who Loved Me (along with Goldfinger) is the quintessential Bond movie. Seeing it #19 is really giving me the coronavirus too. Diamonds are Forever and Quantum of Solace belong to the bottom, IMO.

I disagree but what two lists would be the same out of 24 films? I like seeing different view on the Bond films anyway. Here is my list. www.imdb.com/list/ls021991968/

On a positive note...at least you got the following on the higher half... 1 From Russia With Love (1963) 2 Goldfinger (1964) 5 Casino Royale (2006) 6 Dr. No (1962) 9 Skyfall (2012) 10 License to Kill (1989) NOTE: there are basically 25 Bond movies, not 24. because 'Never Say Never Again (1983)' is pretty much a Bond movie even though some might not count it (since it's not more of the standard ones that everyone knows are 100% in which case the more official 1983 Bond movie would be Octopussy (1983)) but I feel one should as the only one I would not count is Casino Royale (1967). but anyways... either way, by the 24-25 movie standard that basically makes the first twelve movies listed as part of the higher half. On a negative note...my biggest complaints... 1)Putting Diamonds Are Forever above Skyfall (and some others) as those two movies have a rather huge gap in quality, with Skyfall being far superior. 2)Putting Spectre/Quantum of Solace on the lower half of the Bond movies. (they should easily be upper half at the minimum) 3)Putting Skyfall not much over mid-pack. (should be much higher) etc
so anyways, to get back to your question in the topic... I disagree quite strongly in some ways but it's not all negative as you can see above.
================================================================== because for me when I look at the Bond movies that stand out in general to be among my favorite movies it boils down to the following... 1.Skyfall (2012) - 9/10 2.Casino Royale (2006) - 8/10 3.Spectre (2015) - 7.5-8/10 4.From Russia with Love (1963) - 7/10 -.Licence to Kill (1989) -.Goldfinger (1964) -.Dr. No (1962) Honorable Mentions (just shy of making My Favorite Movies)... 8.The Man with the Golden Gun (1974) - 6-6.5/10 -.Quantum of Solace (2008) p.s. but I do like 14 out of the 25 Bond movies (soon to be 26 once No Time to Die (2020) is released). the rest I mildly like are... Moonraker/OHMSS/The Living Daylight/You Only Live Twice/Thunderball. everything else not listed here is a Thumbs Down.
Good point.
but I would be more concerned with what Bond movies are good enough for the viewer to be among that persons favorite movies in general. this help separate the true gems from just another movie pretty much.

I have not seen Never Say Never Again (1983) or Casino Royale (1967)

Feologild OakesI have seen the 1983 movie, but not the 1967 one. but the 1967 movie is more of a spoof etc (even IDMb lists it as 'Comedy') which excludes it from the typical standards of a James Bond movie which I assume is why no one really counts it as a Bond movie as it's only slight affiliation to that world it seems. because I would assume most Bond fans would count 'Never Say Never Again (1983)' as part of the main 24 Bond movies (so 25 Bond movies in total(will be 26 once No Time to Die (2020) is released later this year)) and it has Sean Connery in it etc.

About 8/10. It would be 9/10 if Spy Who Loved Me was closer to the top. Very excellent rankings there.
A few very good trends in your ranking. Notably, a better eye for cinematography than most people here have. More ground view scenery in your ranking as opposed to the tendency directors had to put in too much "up in the air" footage that kind of left most people a bit dizzy. A lot more "logical view of scenery" than the shots that left the audience dizzy and sometimes even bored.

My list would be vastly different, but happy to see someone who doesn’t hate ‘Diamonds are Forever’.
