What punishment should they have?
I think the appropriate punishment is to be tied to a sofa and forced to watch "Cahill: U.S. Marshal" nineteen times.

Make them rewrite the correct spelling 20 times.

Catman would rap them on the nose with a rolled up newspaper. Given that many newspapers these days are online only, that could actually hurt quite a bit.

They should be whipped with wet noodles for their Word Crimes.

They should have to follow a new law created by Marshall Mathers.

About the same punishment as those who write "mute point", or "here, here". Or "of" instead of "have" (eg. "should of" instead of "should've"). Or, for crying out loud, people who use "AKA" instead of "ie.".

Would you use this for naughty RFS posters? If there are any wilful Corona spreaders then they better stay away.

Have them stand for 24 hours in a pillory and have people throw rotten eggs and rotten fruits on them. You know like this

Paintings by Matt Dillon are marshal arts, aren't they? I do accept split infinitives and sentences ending with a preposition, but these really grate on me: - I bought a six cylinder car when I could of had a V-8.
- I have more money then you do.
- Your going to regret it.
- He had the nerve to bring his dog, all be it a small one, to my house.
- John was taken back when he saw the size of my coronavirus.
- Does Jupiter effect global warming?
- The door was a jar when I got to my house.

But it could also be they're referring to a precedent set down by Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall.

Marshall McLuhan said "the medium is the message" so there's no such thing as a mispelling.

Catman once had a student who wrote about the quirks of his particular felid of study. Who would have guessed that electrical engineering was a cat?
