I don't have any pets, right now. I'm wondering if anyone is getting any signals from animals that they sense that "something" is different, during this time when the humans are dealing with the tensions of quarantine.
My city block is fairly large, taking in 2 "streets," and 2 numbered "avenues." The houses are built very close together, so kitties have the run of the interior backyards, without danger of them running out, or into traffic. There are 4 of them, from 3 different homes, who "patrol" this area. It must be kitty Heaven ... fences and backyards, Galore! If we leave our back doors open, they'll pop in for a visit. I'm fluent in Meow.
They seem to be out less. And, none of them has been in my apartment for about a week. I spoke with the owner of one, whose back door I can see from my kitchen. He said that she doesn't want to go out as early as she used to. And, I can see her sleeping in the sunshine, near his open back door, rather than her favorite corner in the backyard of my building.
The general ambient noise, in the whole neighborhood, is much quieter. I'm wondering if animals are picking up on that, and feel a tension of their own.

Miko and Katsura have noticed Catman isn't going out to visit Catwoman every day, but they are treating it as an excuse to ask for food more often, and Catman has to explain that they are not going to get a third breakfast, an early lunch, an early supper, or a before late supper supper.

Catman is wise to get tough, for their own good. But, I doubt that they appreciate that.
They do have ways of revenge, you know.

Our big, fluffy guy, Duncan, a hefty 16-pounder, can't figure out why the Mr isn't up at 6AM to exercise before going to work. So he feels compelled to come stand on The Boss's chest at 5AM, singing the plaintive song of his people. Odd that he wants us up an hour early, but he never adjusted to Daylight Savings Time just before all the corona weirdness started. His clock is all out of whack. The little girl, Amber, is a bundle of anxieties at her best. Her response to the amorphous unease is to try to eat her feelings and she demands food any time she can get my attention. Like Catman, I'm rigidly controlling the supply.

Hi Divtal: Our lifestyle has not changed yet, WKM still goes to work 5 days a week and I just go grocery shopping one day a week so I'm almost always around. What the wicked kitties find unacceptable is if we are gone after it gets dark, that rarely happens. So far Mobile County is not in shelter in Place, at this time there are 10 confirmed cases of Covid -19, the latest is a newborn baby girl and the nurse that took care of her. That's a real same that a newborn has been infected. WKD got the second part of his pneumonia shot on Tuesday, before he could enter the clinic, they took his temperature. He was the only patient there at that time! They are now setting up a testing center in the parking lot of that clinic. I think the wicked kitties would love for WKD to be home all the time, he takes a lot of naps on the weekend and they like to nap with him, he always has a bed full of kitties.
WKD is their giant cat toy.

My cat is her usual predictable yet unpredictable self. Then again, I've been working remotely or freelancing at home since before I got her in early 2010. And I'm a bit of a homebody introvert, anyway.
Big weather changes for her, though. Was 91 degrees two days ago. She's going to be out a lot more. It's never too hot for her.

Starting in Tuesday, WKD will be working from home, I will not have access to our shared computer at that time but I'm sure the wickedkitties will be sure to help "Daddy" with his work.

I know there are quite a few animal/pet lovers on here so I thought I'd post this story in these rather trying times. A cat indirectly strikes up a non-verbal convo between neighbours. Woman put message in window to ask cat's name.

WKM (and everyone else) Stay safe! I'm not on here much to post, but do read the things posted. I don't think my kitties are acting much different, but actually seem to have 'spring fever'. :-) The chickens still aren't used to 'daylight saving time'. mr.sunshine's job is considered 'essential', so he is still out there working. :-( I got stocked up on groceries for us and my mom, so shouldn't have to go out for the next two weeks, except to the pharmacy to pick up prescriptions. Take care everyone!!

I don't know what it means, but vultures seem to be circling overhead with more frequency.
