Does it bother you when people hate a movie you enjoy?

I always come with a misnomer. "This film might not be for you".
Then they think I'm saying they're stupid.

No , cuz they just didn't get it. probably. Thing is, they have to like it, exactly the same way I liked it. Cuz if they didn't. Then they didn't get it.

I actually think it's funny. Quantum of Solace, Jurassic Park III, Attack of the Clones... I really could not care less what ppl think of subjective tastes.

What's the point of this topic? ; it's too similar to the other one you mentioned and I would assume the answers would be pretty much the same in the sense if the other topic bothers a person this would also would and if it does not, then it does not.

Sadly i don`t care if this thread bothers you. Nobody is forcing you to write in it or even click on it.

Why make two threads that are basically very similar? ; you could have basically asked it in the same thread.
but come to think of it... between your two threads I would say it would bother me more for someone dissing a movie I like a lot than for someone to like a movie I hate.

No because sometimes I like a movie for personal reasons. There's something in it to which I can relate whereas others haven't had the same experience.

No , cuz they just didn't get it. probably. Thing is, they have to like it, exactly the same way I liked it. Cuz if they didn't. Then they didn't get it. Except that argument only works for certain movies. If somebody hates a straightforward movie that you love, then what is the excuse? They just have bad taste then I suppose. It also isn't out of the realm of reality for someone to hate a movie that you love that they actually do understand. It could simply be a complete lack of interest in the subject matter or that they are just unable to connect to them. Ie. I don't dislike spoof movies because I don't get them (I understand the purpose of these movies and why many people find them hilarious), I dislike them because the genre bores me. Airplane! Autopilot is a play on words, yeah, I get it. It doesn't make me laugh though. The jive talk scene is a race/culture and generational gap joke. It doesn't make me laugh.

Not really, I don't expect other people's tastes to be the same as mine. Mildly surprised sometimes to find that a film I really enjoyed was widely disliked, or that one I couldn't stand was extremely popular, but not bothered as such.

Not at all. In fact, it bothers me when people are bothered that I don't share their opinion. If I think a movie was dumb, I don't think you're dumb for enjoying it because there are a million reasons why a film (or any piece of art) resonates with one person more than another. Likewise, if someone thinks I'm an idiot for enjoying a film they think is garbage, that lack of perspective is their problem, not mine.
It's only obnoxious when somebody gets defensive over an opinion on art. i.e., "You didn't like movie X? Well, movie Y on your list is garbage, so what do you know? Movie X is awesome, I don't care what anyone says."

As a Terrence Malick fan, I've dealt with people hating on pretty much all of his movies after Days of Heaven.
