Thought it might be good to have a general thread for posting new music as it premieres on YouTube.
Right now I'm most excited about the new Ulcerate album. So far they've released two songs:
In a completely different style, I really dug the last Carly Rae Jepsen single that she released for Valentine's Day:

Strange, thought-provoking new song from one of the greatest lyricists ever, Bob Dylan.
Very excited for the new Strokes album - they're easily a Top 3 band for me, I love everything they've put out and find their evolution from ITI to FPP extremely interesting and incredible.

^ Wow, didn't know Dylan (my personal favorite singer/songwriter of all time) had released any new music! Can't wait to listen to that.
Last few days I've been listening to the new Dua Lipa album, Future Nostalgia. Very much disco/80s-tinged and clearly influenced by early-00's Madonna/Minogue, Lady Gaga, as well as the recent 80s revival trend. Here's two singles:
^ Bass riff on that is straight up INXS's I Need You Tonight

A mixed combo so far there. With more time on my hands I'm listening to more new stuff than usual. I don't know when Premieres happen on YT. The last one I listened to was Ghosteen (underwhelming, sorry, I'm not gonna tow the line with the overall "Awesome!" consensus just because it's Nick Cave) And I got advance notice of that premiere through an email else I probably wouldn't have known about it. It's good that you get excited for Ulcerate, like getting a new album from the store.

I'm firmly of the belief that with a few honourable exceptions Cave/Seeds have been poor since he fell into his piano balaadeer for Guardian readers persona after the wonderful "Murder Ballads". (that tour was also the last time I bothered seeing him) Abbatoir/Lyre and "Dig" are great but he seems to have settled into pipe slippers since Polly Harvey ruined him. I'd give a lot for a "Murder Ballads 2" or something like "Henry's Dream" but can't see it happening.

My favorite song from my favorite album of the year so far. Great prog metal with death metal vocals with unpredictable chord progressions and melodies. Pretty sure any Opeth fan would appreciate this.

New track from The Radio Dept. A little closer to the "dream pop" of their earlier work after the more clinical/electronic feel of 2016's Running Out of Love

It's good that you get excited for Ulcerate, like getting a new album from the store. Best way to find/hear premieres on YT is to subscribe to the channels of your favorite bands/artists. On the left side of YT's page is your list of subscriptions and when any of them releases a new video there will be a dot next to it. If it's a channel you often visit the YT algorithm will typically recommend the video automatically on the main page as well. As for Ulcerate, I'm aware they're quite niche (as all extreme music is), but I do believe they're the best metal band of the last decade. It's the first music I've heard in a long while that's utterly perplexed me as to what the hell they're doing, and they've been a near permanent fixture of my playlists over the last year in hopes it will sink in. Hell, even watching covers and/or them playing this stuff live I still can't figure it out. My reaction to them is the same as this pro jazz drummer's reaction at 1:26:

Very cool, slick, and streamlined. Only thing I miss is some of the slower tracks from her debut like Garden. It could've used with just a bit of variety.

New Testament is out tomorrow. I actually found an early copy online. Like most of their reunion albums it's good, solid thrash metal. I don't think it's quite as good as Brotherhood of the Snake, but I'd put it about equal with Dark Roots of Earth. Here's the released tracks:

The new Grimes album was a bit of a disappointment, but I quite like this song from it:

The new Grimes album was a bit of a disappointment... That's why I posted an album I actually bought, instead of preview tracks for an upcoming album. I feel that if I post something, I'm giving my endorsement, and lately I've encountered several new albums that disappointed once I heard them in their entirety.
