I got to meet him at my one and only CMA Music Festival in 2000 which was named Fan Fair at the time and again in 2007 when he came here to my area. A beautiful man Joe was. Sadly I am having a problem getting my favorite picture of me and him together up here and so in the mean time, here is one of his best songs in my opinion.
God bless you and his family always!!!
Holly
P.S. I pray that his 1992 Music City News award show performance of "The Ships That Don't Come In" is somewhere online again someday soon because it is awesome!!!

This is my mom and me with Joe at my one and only CMA Music Festival in 2000 which was known as Fan Fair at the time. God bless you and his family and the rest of his fan base always!!! Holly P.S. I have a picture of us together when I saw him in 2007, but it was taken with one of them instant cameras and so the shot isn't as good as this one is.

^^^ Thank you! I love how the motif for his signing area acknowledged his being on the radio for ten years at that point. A picture of each album is underneath where it says "A Decade Of Diffie". God bless you and his family always!!! Holly

I didn't realize he was 'only' 61.
LOVE his song "Honky Tonk Attitude". That was around 1992/93. So, that would have put him at early to mid 30s.
RIP Joe Diffie.
BTW, I wonder if anyone propped him up beside the jukebox?
It's not my intention to offend anyone during this dark time. I'm just trying to make light of a dark situation.
If I do, I apologize in advance.

^^^ I can't blame you for asking what you ask. If you're going to put out there a song which such a name, you may as well be prepared for whatever may be put with it later on.
God bless you always!!!
Holly
P.S. I can't see him minding anyone propping him up next to one for real since it was his decision to sing such a song. If it were me doing the deed though, I would have a pair of sunglasses on him, so that his being deceased for real wouldn't stand out as much. Putting him there would most likely be how Joe would've wanted to go forward anyway instead of how his departure really did come to pass.

Go here for both a recent clip and write up on Joe. God bless you and his family always!!! Holly P.S. It is very much appreciated how much has been shared about Joe, especially when maybe at the end of the day, the family doesn't owe the fans much if anything at all. I do remember hearing Joe say on the radio years ago that the fans are who keep celebrities going and so if I have ever overstepped in any way by caring about my favorites so much to where I may ask about things that might be private, I do apologize. To me, people as wonderful as Joe deserve all of the thought and respect in the world, especially when respect is what comes from people like him first.

Go here and start watching at the 1:21:16 mark of the clip for Joe's Music City News performance of "The Ships That Don't Come In".
God bless you and his family and the rest of his fans always!!!

P.S. I didn't think that Joe would ever give it up at the end, I LOVE the smile on his face while listening to the crowd go bonkers for him!!!
