To be a true Skywalker she need blood connection or marriage connection she has non of that. But by your logic i guess that means that Luke is also a Kenobi. You're not really picking up on the whole mentor or implied surrogate family thing, are you? Obi Wan to Anakin, Obi Wan to Luke, Luke and Leia to Rey. Kind of a thing in the series. I removed that part of my comment. Which you should be able to see.

I mean, Han and Leia named their son Ben and only Han had a small connection to him.

And she considered him a trusted friend even though (as far as we know) she never met him. Remember the line “Help me ObiWan Kenobi. You’re my only hope.”

This looks like something Lucas came up with. No. But it does look like an exaggeration of one the moral themes of his saga. (Lucas would NEVER make non-Jedi, especially non-Force users a Force ghost).

Naming him Ben sounds like something Luke thought to do (he did name his son Ben in the books). Also, also, from the retcon of Rogue One, she had to have just learned about him when Bale Organa sent her to meet him. She couldn't have known he was on Tatooine until just then.

I agree with all of that. She likely didn’t know where he was, but she obviously knew of him. I mean, you don’t send your daughter on some secret mission for someone she’s never heard of before. And she doesn’t call someone her only hope if she doesn’t have some previous regard, respect, or confidence in him. I mean she made use of Han and Luke’s help escaping the Death Star. And the idea of her calling one of them her only hope is laughable.

And the idea of her calling one of them her only hope is laughable. He's a Jedi that served with her father during the Clone Wars and he trusts Obi Wan to help out more than anyone else there. Her father vouches for him, then, yes, he's their only available hope. But...

I'd like to see a fan edit that removes everything that sucked in these sequels. The final cut would be approximately 10 minutes.
