It's the definition of generic and laziness.

It's the definition of generic and laziness. I liked the soundtrack, the action, Nightcrawler was cool and given a good portion of screentime, Cyclops was cool (and he says ‘f@&k’ and was a real tough guy). I didn’t find it too boring until maybe a little toward the conclusion, but even that was concise. The beginning was exciting. And the film just had a foreboding tone that other X-films or Marvel rarely if ever achieve. Much of this is due to the soundtrack which was exceptional.

I saw it the other night and apologized to myself when it was over.

Sure, not when you compare it to say Catwoman or Elektra. Compared to most modern-day cbms however... it's terrible. Maybe not Suicide Squad levels but it's not too far off.

They should have used that in their marketing - "It's not that bad!"

They're basically saying "See how grown up and mature we are! We said Fuck! But only once because we're PG-13!" Seriously, have some self-respect, it's embarrassing.

It worked well in X-Men: First Class because it fits well with Wolverine's character. It didn't work well with remaining films because: -In X-Men: Days of Future Past, Xavier didn't even get the line correctly. The line from First Class was "Go f**k yourself", not "F**k off". -In X-Men: Apocalypse, it just felt out of place. -In X-Men: Dark Phoenix, not only it came right out of nowhere (no pun-intended), but the execution was utterly embarrassing. Fun fact, I was so disappointed by X-Men: Dark Phoenix that I ended up creating #PixarChallenge on MCU Fan Forum.

I actually thought it was worse than Suicide Squad because of how insufferable it was. I thought acting, action and production value was all higher in Dark Phoenix. But considering how popular the X-men characters are already and all the previous movies that they've had to build these characters, I'd say Dark Phoenix was the far bigger failure. At least Suicide Squad felt like it was trying, even though it failed at that. Dark Phoenix just felt like nobody cared about it. Not the actors, not the studio, not the director and certainly not the audience.

Admitting the X-Men franchise has nowhere to go but Up?
Have attempts to justify its existence hit a Wall-E?
I hate being stuck inside.

I hate being stuck inside. I.... can't believe I just read that. This quarantine must really be turning your life Inside Out.

I hate being stuck inside. Toy Story 4 was playing in cinemas at the time (or at least it came out 2 weeks after X-Men: Dark Phoenix), so I suggested others to watch that instead of X-Men: Dark Phoenix.
