I kinda thought it was better than Apocalypse. Also DOFP IMO. That was the stupid one. Magneto put train tracks up the Sentinels’ asses and then he could control every aspect of them including their electronics and even when his concentration was diverted? It’s stupid. Also DOFP introduced the nonsense of Beast reverting back to his Hank appearance at will. That’s stupid, not in the comics and was probably only done because Nicholas Hoult is a big star. DOFP had tired conversations between Magneto and Xavier which DP avoided.

Dark Phoenix, in my opinion, is the worst of the Fox-Men films because it felt like absolutely no effort was put into it. Nearly every aspect screamed laziness. From the bought off the rack costumes to the generic villains (Jessica Chastain as a walking/talking blank), set design (is that supposed to be Genosha?).
It just felt like they ran out of ideas and had nowhere else to go with these characters. For it's entirety, the whole franchise felt like they were throwing things at the wall to see what stuck, but with this it felt like they were completely spent.
The only thing it had going for it was the Hans Zimmer score, which was effective, but not among his best scores and the train fight sequence at the end which was put together by a second unit director during reshoots.
If you set your standards low enough and turn off all brain function, it works as a mild distraction if there's nothing else to watch.

What is funny is the director is one of the worst hacks known in Hollywood and he is a big MCU fan. Dark Phoenix belongs in the same place as Endgame, Far From Home, Captain Marvel. 2019 for comic films was a joke. You look at all this movies and you just love Logan, TDK, Joker, DOFP, X2 more. What is funnier is we will indeed see far worse xmen films to come with MCU X-Men. You can deny it all you want if that makes you feel better, but Dark Phoenix is a Fox-verse film no matter how much you try to fit it into your little perpetuated group of Marvel films you claim are just as worse.

Its not just the best of the fox verse. the honours goes to Logan, X2 and Deadpool and DOFP. Not just the best fox verse film but the best overall marvel films.

It's the kind of film I put into the group of films I have no intention of revisiting, but if it's a rainy day and it's on TV and there's nothing else on, I'll put it on even if I don't pay much attention to it. It's mildly entertaining, but that's it. Xavier and Magneto's story is just exhausting at this point and quite frankly, ran it's course in DoFP. Didn't really care much for the younger cast. The train sequence definitely belongs to a better X-Men film and one of the best onscreen portrayals of the X-Men powers.

I wasn't a big fan of Captain Marvel, but at least I didn't find my attention repeatedly blanking out through the movie like it did through Dark Phoenix.

CM wasn't even bad, it's just the embodiment of mediocre, a true paint by numbers formulaic movie, hits all the MCU tropes but with none of the creativity, ingenuity, flare or charisma most other MCU movies show, it tells an ok story but nothing more which goes for the acting, dialog, visuals, everything really, it's one of those movie you wont seek out to watch but if it's on it's like ok fine I'll watch this type of flick.

I think its good that you also feel this way about the mcu movies. i agree about DP reason I think it fits well within the mcu films. the director even drew inspirationfrom mcu movies the newer marvel films from fox and disney you don't need brains to enjoy them. reason dc is boss and only the older fox films matters

I wish things had ended with Logan and DOFP. these are the top tier comic films for marvel.

He (since, come on, they are the same person) love the praise for the MCU. Why else come to a place, knowing that people will say he's wrong and say good things about the MCU, with his nonsense? You'd think he'd go to a place that doesn't like the MCU, right? Some place that others will agree with him about the the DC movies being better. He's not converting anyone here. The only person he has on his side is Supperhero. And that's only because he has spent so much time and energy trying to fix the X-men movies.

Or it's because like Supperhero he's clinically insane, maybe Supper is just the 3rd "personality" to the same mentally ill soul, I mean look at it, Nolan, Summers & Supper all constantly preach about how their opinion is globally shared by the majority of people, they are oblivious to facts that disprove the nonsense they speak, they barely understand English, and fail to actual follow along the actual plot of any movie, oh and constantly use the same broad idiotic bashing of people who like the MCU films, I mean it kind of fits I think they both popped up around times when Summers went on hiatus or got banned in the past, what do you think is Supper a 3rd personality/sock account? Or is Supper a separate person and they simply get along and agree with Summers/Nolan because they share the same rare and acute mental illness?

Supperhero just started doing that. The ones that sound the same is nolan, summers and wormhole. Nolan is just the DC version of the other 2 personas.
And about the topic: yes it is.
