So Bleacher report is running a GOAT Madden Simulation tournament because, why the hell not given no sports going on. Each team has their greatest players in franchise history with certain players like Deion Sanders only being represented by one franchise so no multiples. (It's the Falcons btw) Here is the Bracket: Here is a break down of the rosters: bleacherreport.com/articles/2883549-br-goat-sim-introducing-the-all-time-madden-rostersThey're doing it on their Twitch channel here: www.twitch.tv/bleacher_report/It started yesterday and they're doing 4 games a day atm. Who is interested or watching?

Apparently last night the Jags upset Peyton and the Colts. The Redskins also upset the loaded Cowboys.

Another one and done for Peyton, eh? Yeah I have zero clue how the Jaguars beat them. I can't think of any all time great Jags that could even compete with a loaded Colts roster. Fred Taylor and MJD maybe? Brunnell at QB? However given that it's Madden and the CPU is fucking dumb as shit with plays calls it's always possible. Watching the game the Vikings should have beat the Packers. Vikes had it 4th and goal at like the 1 inch line and Tarkington dropped back to pass instead of handing to AP and he promptly got sacked/fumbled. Favre threw a pick and Ahman Green fumbled twice yet the Vikings just kept shooting themselves in the foot with what the CPU was calling for them. Also, with the game in hand instead of running out the final 50 seconds or so Favre dropped back to pass for some dumbass reason. It's so stupid but it can be somewhat entertaining.

Results so far Chiefs over Broncos Patriots over Dolphins Jaguars over Colts Ravens over Browns Redskins over Cowboys Packers over Vikings Panthers over Falcons Jameis "Clutch" Winston leads a last minute scoring drive to take a 21-17 lead over the Saints, followed by Brees throwing a pick in the endzone with the last play of the game. Buccaneers win; New Orleans getting ready to sue EA.

Day 3 results:
Bills over Jets Giants over Eagles Lions over Bears Titans over Texans
I see the GOAT thing applies only to players, not coaches. Hence they have virtual Adam Gase on the sidelines coaching Joe Namath and the Jets!

Day 4:
Chargers over Raiders 49ers over Cardinals Steelers over Bengals Rams over Seahawks
(No I don't actually watch the games, just skim through to see the final few seconds and score. What's more astonishing to me is the fans in the chat who seem legitimately upset at the results and events of a simulation.)
That leaves the bracket as:
Chargers vs Chiefs Bills vs Patriots Steelers vs Ravens Jaguars vs Titans
49ers vs Rams Redskins vs Giants Packers vs Lions Panthers vs Buccaneers

I’d be curious to see who would win in a game of all-time Steelers vs all-time Patriots. Like a legit game, not two nerds playing Madden. I’d think an all-time Steelers defense could counteract any offense that Brady & Belichick could come up with but who knows.
PS - I know today’s athletes are physically beyond those of the 70s and the game has evolved blah blah blah. Just answer in the spirit of my question.

By the rules of this format, Moss is on the Vikings. If the Pats can use Moss, you're talking about a receiving corps of Gronk, Moss, Welker, Coates (to only name 2 WR and TE-- things really get fun if I add a depth chart at WR) and depending on who they let us use at RB (Dillon, considering the bulk of his career was in Cinci? LeGarrette Blount or Curtis Martin would be my fallback picks) and 3rd Down back Kevin Faulk or James White. Brady protected by Mankins, Light, Solder, Andrews, Mason. Sure I'm a Pats fan, but I'm not saying no way the Steelers win. I just like the Pats chances.

The line of scrimmage when either team had the ball would be a bloodbath, and both have legendary players in the secondary as well. It'd be a hell of a game. Edge to the Pats in special teams.

Day 3 results: Bills over Jets Giants over Eagles Lions over Bears Titans over Texans I see the GOAT thing applies only to players, not coaches. Hence they have virtual Adam Gase on the sidelines coaching Joe Namath and the Jets! Yeah it's funny that way with the coaches. You can't really create the coaches for what they're doing so they just run with the 2019 season coaches and play books. However I will say, that's possibly not a bad thing given it's simulation. Imagine Vince Lombardi coaching the GOAT Packers team and having Favre at QB and only having like 10 pass plays in your playbook. They put Lombardi in the game a few years ago and his playbook and it was shit if you're looking to be playing Madden or modern day football. Would be a massive disadvantage. I do find the GOAT players odd though. Because these rosters were created by some dude online. Did he decide the overalls for these players as well? Did he base them on past Madden games and give them the highest rating they ever had in such a game? Also, these rosters aren't really complete either. You can only create so many players in the game so not every roster is truly built correctly. For example, Jace Sternberger was one of the Packers TE's on this GOAT team. He was a rookie last year and has like 40 career snaps to his name. How was he still on the roster? He even had a catch against the Vikings. The whole thing is kind of a joke but at least it's something going on. I just wish it was 2 people playing each other instead of a computer simulation.
