Let's recommend each other some timely horror movies to check out while we are all trapped indoors. Or even some movies that aren't related to viruses or the end of days, whatever you want to recommend. Cabin Fever (2002) Eli Roth's original virus paranoia horrorfest! Not only does it address viruses, the title alone is perfect for how we are all feeling by now. For some unknown reason, it was remade in 2016, only fourteen years later. Seemed unnecessary, but it was watchable. There are two sequels to the original, but the first is still the best.

I never really cared for this movie, but if you see the recent remake that used the exact same script it will give you an appreciation for Eli Roth even if you didn't have one to begin with. I don't especially love his stuff, but that other one is so clearly amateurish and misses the tone completely. I don't think either movie is especially good, but it's an interesting experiment so I was kinda glad I saw them. Also, the sequels are kinda dumb but not a complete waste of time. I'm trying to see if I can watch the Mick Garris directed The Stand miniseries anywhere.

The Andromeda Strain (1971) - Alien virus gonna wipe out humanity.
The Shining (1980) - Deals with themes of isolation from the outside world.
The Crazies (1973) - For obvious reasons.
Dawn of the Dead (1978) - This and any zombie film really. This is the closest we'll ever get to a real zombie outbreak.
The Mist (2007) - People trapped inside a supermarket and can't leave due to what's lurking outside. They start to go stir crazy and turn on each other.
Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978) - In the real world, you can never know who might be carrying COVID-19, just as here you can never know who might be a Pod Person.
The Thing (1982) - Parasitic alien life-form infects human cells.
The Masque of the Red Death (1964) - A post on this board reminded me of this one.
