I didn't care for 47 Meters Down really at all, but I'd heard good things about Crawl. The reviews across the board have been pretty positive.

As far as 47 Meters Down - I found the ending rather comical - I mean I get we're watching movies here - but I was like -
Did I just see two chicks get taken by sharks in their jaws back to back and they both survived?
And the part where the one sister jumps in the water to save the other sister in the sharks grips - it was like wait - am I watching a comedy here - I know I have to suspend my beliefs just a bit as I'm watching a movie - but I seriously thought it turned into a comedy at the end.
Guess the last semi decent shark movie I saw was 'The Shallows'.

I didn't mind Crawl, effects decent and very tight movie in that it didn't outstay it's welcome. As a "creature feature" it was a good high concept B movie.

I didnt really like The Shallows either. It also had a comically stupid ending where the girl somehow doesn't get killed. She literally out-swims a great white shark and forces it smash it's face into the ocean floor and kill itself. Unbelievably stupid.

I thought she was just a hobby surfer, who dropped out of medical school because her mom died or some such exposition bullshit that we learn by her phone appearing on the screen. Got I hate that shit. That movie sucks.

Hey Ned - In case you're reading - saw 'Crawl' yesterday (giant crocodile movie) - stay away Watched '47 Meters Down' too - shark movie - was better than 'Crawl' but that ain't saying much Crawl - not a patch on Rogue (2007) , which in turn doesn't have the fun of Lake Placid (1999). Likewise The Meg is child friendly and lacks the tongue in cheek fun of Deep Blue Sea.

I was very disappointed in The Meg too after I read/heard a lot of people rave about it - Deep Blue Sea was a fun movie - especially the famous Samuel L. Jackson scene.
I attempted Rogue a couple of years back - was bored out of my mind.
It's rare to come across a decent killer animal movie these days.
Hmmmm - trying to think of some good ones.
Have you ever seen 'Frozen'? Not the kiddie movie - but the movie about the 3 people trapped on the ski lift while the ski resort is closed down and there's killer wolves below them? Highly recommended.

All-Star cast - fun summer popcorn flick.
I also enjoyed Willard (the remake).
Bear movie - The Edge Another Wolf movie - The Grey
The Edge and The Grey are great - used to have a debate on the old IMDB on which was better.

Anyway, to address the point of the thread, I hate to be Mr Serious, but I think a case could be made for us on this board to not enable* someone with mental health issues to continue to drink alcohol as HTL says above, which (arguably) we all do by failing to address that point, instead opting to pat him on the head and encourage him, or get into equally futile arguments with him. One doesn't need to be a medical professional to know that that is a lethal, often fatal, combination. No, I don't come here to save the world either, but perhaps it's worth considering in future. * (yes, I hate that word too, but it's applicable here) Thank You! Look, I'm never going to be swapping spit in the showers with Sean and his 17 other alter egos, I find he terrorist sympathising abhorrent beyond compare, and yet if he kept it to a board that might be more "receptive" then it wouldn't affect myself and others who come to the board to talk and laugh about relevant stuff. But I am sympathetic to his mental health issues, if they are indeed true (does anyone really know if it's fact?), but if he's not posting pictures of himself drinking a bottle of gin on a grass bank, or threading about how great wine is and can you recommend some for him to sample, I mean WTF. Valium or anti-psychotics, till you keep off the booze nothing works, and that's fact, I have seen it at close quarters. So instead of encouraging it, his so called friends might want to try being grown up about the situation and tell him as it is. Facts people - if he has a death wish, then so be it, lets all indulge in larking about on a sports message board until you all end up posting his obituary...

Oh no, what a shame! I honestly think Rogue is the best of the Croc/Gator bunch > www.imdb.com/review/rw2313833/?ref_=tt_urvWhat did you think of Black Water? > www.imdb.com/review/rw2350795/?ref_=tt_urvFrozen - Yes, I gave it a very good review, it's a lesson in getting the most out of a simple one location/premise - www.imdb.com/review/rw2689870/?ref_=tt_urv

I ignore FJ's religious, social and political beliefs (like I ignore everybody elses).
That said - I have a sense of compassion for people with alcohol and depression issues - I too have been around it and have gone through it myself and have had to take a step back more than once in life.
Old saying - the only person that is going to help you is you - as he struggles through it - I have a sense of understanding (again ignoring FJs religious, social and political beliefs) and compassion for it.
I hope he returns - I regard him as a valuable member of the community - I do understand how some can be offended by it - but as an individual I tune it out and enjoy conversing with FJ.

I enjoyed both The Edge and The Grey, but if I had to choose I think I would pick The Grey. Here's a creature feature I haven't seen but I have it on my watch list. Bats (1999) has a pretty low IMDb score but that won't deter me.

I've always liked Anaconda. God's honest truth, I re-watched it the other night, it was on the British Horror Channel at 3:00 in the AM and I couldn't sleep so gave it another whirl. It's cheese has hell but still fun - if just for Voight's wink it's worth it! - but it is pretty forgettable - not seen the sequel? - www.imdb.com/review/rw2135123/?ref_=tt_urv
