I watched The Naked City 1948 yesterday for the first time and was fascinated by all the location shots of New York. Someone has gone through the whole trouble finding many of the locations were it was shot and taken photographs of how it looks nowdays. Hopefully it's interesting for those living in New York or has been in New York or just generally interested. The whole article by be found here: www.scoutingny.com/the-filming-locations-of-the-naked-city-1940s-nyc-vs-today-part-1/Maybe something to do while quarantined, or finding similar sights regarding other movies.

I love finding old movie sites and seeing what they look like today. While watching a film from the '40s or '50s in a street scene, if I spot a movie theater or hotel or department store in the background, I will pause the film and search for addresses for those places so I can use Google maps to look at the site today. Sometimes the buildings are still there, esp. if it is located outside of Los Angeles. In L.A., any particular place is likely to be gone and replaced if it is older than about 20 years.

Does this drive other movie watchers in the vicinity a bit batty or do they just wander off until you are finished ?

Several times I've heard, "I thought I told you never to come back to this theater."

Amazing someone did this for a landmark docu-noir film.
