Got to be Randy Johnson. I mean I couldn’t hit any of them but the chances are higher that Johnson could kill you.

at least with a fastball you know it's coming (hopefully) down the middle - i.e. pretty much a straight trajectory
i want no part of a ball with movement (change of trajectory) on it

A friend of mine who played college baseball always said he would have wanted to face Rivera, just so he could see what that pitch was like because it didn't seem like it should be so hard to figure out but it was obviously extraordinarily effective.

Any power pitcher on a cold April day. Your timing is still off, the weather is cold, you catch a fastball on the hand or on your fingers, that shit hurts for days. I mean, it always hurts, but on those cold days, even a foul ball where the pitch rides in on you and gets close to your hands stings.
Specific pitches? I agree with goons, I want to see what that Rivera pitch looks like. I'd least want to see a Doc Gooden in his prime curveball because it just seemed impossible to hit.

I wonder how different it would be to try and hit a submarine guy like Tekulve or Quisenberry. I mean obviously they’re not coming at you with Nolan Ryan heat but I wonder how a batter would have to adjust. One of them or a guy like Phil Niekro. Dude has over 300 wins and I, from my couch, am like “I could hit that!”

The Tim Wakefield or Phil Niekro knuckleball. I think Charlie Hough also perfected the knuckler.
As it was coming to me, I would be thinking....it's coming in really slow. I'm gonna knock it out of the park!
I would take a big swing - only for the ball to take a deep nose dive. I would likely then miss.

Goose Gossage fastball... that's like walking into traffic on an expressway full of semi's.
HM: Gregg Olson's 'Uncle Charlie' curveball... it just looks physics bending.

It just looks unapproachable, like the brain can't figure out in time the snap buckle of it under you. I think that's why lefties fared even worse because there's no adjustment time in the box. Rivera's cutter at 60 feet 6 inches from one's brain doesn't register I guess.

Dwight Gooden's curve. Doc is remembered for his fastball but his lollypop curve was a thing of beauty. A true 12 to 6 curve. Called "Lord Charles" it was 100% unhittable if a batter was sure the fastball was coming
HM Gaylord Perry spitter Mike Scott split finger Mo Rivera's cutter Phil Niekro's knuckleball

at least with a fastball you know it's coming (hopefully) down the middle - i.e. pretty much a straight trajectory i want no part of a ball with movement (change of trajectory) on it I've only played slow pitch softball. So someday I'll go to a public batting cage and see if I can hit a fast pitch of both softball and baseball just for grins and giggles. If there is one near you, you could do that too.
