When my kid was 3 and obsessed with reading, we were at a fast food place, I reached over and ate some of his fries. He looked at the sign above the counter and said "It says - No eating all of them."

When I was younger, I hated it when I would get my fries and whoever I was with would dump ketchup all over them, I do not like ketchup. I hardly ever eat fries but when I do, I dip them in either Miracle Whip or Mayo and sometimes Ranch dressing but often I just eat them with salt.

That is a reminder of a lunch that I once had, at a restaurant on the Bay. We ate on the deck, which they called "The Dock." A seagull was sitting on the railing between 2 tables (neither one ours). He/she would eye one table, then the other. And, that went on for several minutes. It had everyone's attention, and people were translating its actions into " human speak." it, eventually, flew off, after no invitations were issued. I'm sure the diners at those tables were relieved that he/she wasn't as aggressive as the above-pictured cousin.

Maybe staring them down at close quarters does work and that's why most of them make off with your food in a flash out of nowhere! I do like the translating/human speak bit. Yep, your fellow diners and you played it well.   For years, on days out to the seaside, I've been ignoring nearby seagulls and trusted them to go away - I'm a little late in discovering that the best way of sending them packing is eye-to-eye combat haha. Of course, one stands little chance against a gull swooping from above but at table dining I'll do what the lady in pic 2 is doing. What a pesky hassle they can be, though.

Wait... Did the sign actually say that? Or did he just point to a sign that said something else and said that? Because, that is pretty gangsta if the sign said something else - and he said "see what that sign says..." then claimed it said whatever point he wanted to make.
