I thought I was opening tuna fish but instead opened chicken
Lol
Rookie mistake.
Guess we will have chicken salad instead of tuna salad. I am rather disappointed I wanted tuna. Oh well. It will be fine.
Why did this happen? Because my pantry is so full. cans are not as far apart as normal.
Anyone else make a mistake because of the new way of life

My cupboard and freezer are too full. But I am wearing it down How often are you shopping? I was used to going every day or every second day. So when I had to learn to shop for a week or two I had a heck of a time. Lol I'm good till next week. My own record of 15 days!!

How often are you shopping?I just go when I need something. But I don't walk up and down the isles like I used to. I get what I need and get out of the store. The minute I get home I wash my hands. BTW these are the best Hot Pockets:

That would be an easy mistake, Enigma.
I like both tuna, and chicken salad. I even make them, essentially, the same way. However, these aren't normal times, and choices aren't as wide as we're used to them being. I can, certainly, understand the disappointment.
You made me think about rearranging some of my canned goods ... a sort of "social distancing," in the cupboard.
Stay well.

I don't have the guts to open up a can at this point. I feel like it is the emergency rations, and I can't waste them when there still is fresh food available. Was contemplating opening up a couple cans that say they use-by date was Feb. 2020. Figure I might as well use them while they still might be good.
Was considering opening up a tuna can though, so I can clean and save the can then use it to cover an egg while I'm frying it - so it fits perfectly onto a hamburger bun for an egg and cheese sandwich.

After that mistake I did some 'social distancing' of cans of my own. And I have used quite a lot in the two weeks since I shopped. I am hoping I can get one more week out of the food. It will come down to bread and milk. Have you been able to go shopping less often? (My auto correct had put breast where I have bread. Lol)

Is that how they make the egg the right size peps?? I never thought they have a mold. I asked people what I should use first. My freezer and larder were full. So I am alternating. I really wasn't sure what to use first except of course produce type. That was first There is a real learning curve

I think McDonald's uses some kind of guide for the Egg McMuffins. Like a cookie cutter basically. I read to use a mason jar lid, which I tried. But that is too hard to get the cooked egg out of it, and it has a lot of little grooves which cleaning it is a pain. So I figured I'll try a tuna can. I think you need to use non-stick spray on the inside though.
I have a small 6" mini-iron skillet. I'll just mix up the egg in a bowl, then pour it into the tuna can. Then put the skillet upside down on top of the can, then turn it over all at once, and put it right on the pre-heated stove burner. Then cook it with the can on top of the egg. Not on super high heat. This is all experimental. If it explodes and something happens to me, then it is 100% my fault. Likewise, if it is a revolutionary cooking idea - then I expect 100% credit. I'll just be sure to use a cooking mitt when removing the can. Hopefully the egg will be a perfectly shaped circle with zero waste and fit perfectly onto the hamburger bun. Bonus ideas are to mix items into the egg, like chopped kale and chopped onion. I'm interested into seeing how this one plays out.
While the egg is cooking... I'll take the bottom of the bun and put a couple pieces of lunchmeat. Then the upper bun, flip it over and put a slice of cheese and microwave it on low for 30 seconds. Once the egg has cooked... put the egg on top of the bottom bun and lunchmeat, then put the top bun in place. Then put it in the oven just to make everything the same temperature. Take it out, slice it in half - and that's it. A lot of work, for a simple sandwich. But who cares? We're on quarantine! Some people will learn to play the guitar, I'll learn to make a better breakfast sandwich.
Now apart from the sandwich. As to what you should be eating first. A "larder" is I think what in the US we call a "pantry", where you have canned goods and rice and pasta? I'd save that for last. I would do freezer food before I break into the pantry. Reason being, it's springtime for me. We get high winds, storms, and there is a risk that if we get a storm there could be a power outage. I'm actually in a developed country... just an older neighborhood with above ground power lines. So I don't keep a ton of things in there. And aside from some frozen fish, my freezer has items which don't actually need to be cooked. So I will get into the frozen fish soon and cook that up sometime soon.
Hell, I have no idea what I am going to do. My stupid food supply is the least of my problems.
