For me, it's easily the 2001 World Series BY FAR. And it's not so much the fact that the series is overrated as it is more so the fact that the ending of that World Series is overrated.
Yeah, congratulations Arizona Douchebags for buying yourself the only World Series championship you'll ever have. Congratulations, Luis Gonzalez for taking a lot of steroids to hit that little blooper over second base to win Game 7. I'm sure you must be very proud. Also, screw you Curt Schilling.
Plus, if you were rooting for the Diamondbacks in that series, you were basically rooting for the terrorists that did 9/11 because that World Series win was a win for the terrorists, communists and socialists and douchebags who want nothing more than to see the world burn. Plus, that was just a terrible way for Paul O'Neil and Scott Brosius' careers to end and a terrible way for Tino Martinez's last season with the Yankees until 2005 to end. It cost Alfonso Soriano a chance at winning the MVP and it cost the greatest chance the Moose had of winning a World Series ring with the Yankees.
Take Randy Johnson out of that team's roster and take away all the roids that the players on that team did and that team would be lucky to even sniff the Wild Card game.
The MLB could take away the World Series trophy from the Arizona Diamondbacks right now or sometime in the future and it still wouldn't erase the pain all of us Yankees had and still have of losing that World Series. Oh well, what matters is the Arizona Diamondbacks hadn't done shit since that 2001 season and they faded into irrelvance where they belong.

If you were rooting for the D-Backs you were rooting for terrorists?! You’re fucked in the head, or just trolling, I suspect the latter.

Did you forget your meds?
I wanted the Yankees to win, but claiming the D'Backs bought the World Series from the Yankees is kind of laughable.

What MVP award did Soriano lose? The league MVP? He didn't finish in the top 25 of voting. And the votes are gathered before the playoffs. The WS MVP? He hit .240, one HR, 7 RBI's.
Damn, I've seen some silly shit on here before, but wow

For those that don't know - Game 7 of this series is on Fox right now

So a World Series that had 4 1 run games and was decided after two lead changes in the ninth inning of game 7 after the Dbacks rallied agaunst the greatest closing pitcher of all time is THE most over rated ever?
Think I've better things to do with my time than comment any further on this stupidity.

To give a serious answer, 2014. Tough to rag on seven game series with a great Game 7 but it was the Madison Bumgarner show. The only close games were 3 and 7

The 1987 WS, for a 7 game series, I don't remember a single stand out thing from that series.

The 1987 WS, for a 7 game series, I don't remember a single stand out thing from that series. I remember the crowds in Minnesota. Frank Viola winning Game 7. I remembered an unknown Twins player having an epic series, but I couldn't remember who. Steve Lombardozzi hit .412, had to look it up.
