Groovy. I disagree. This was fun. You can disagree with my opinion that Lucas changed in the time between Jedi & Phantom Menace, but not what Lucas said less than a month after SW was released. Disney was a good thing & he felt he was making a Disney Film. Love it or hate it, but SW is the film that changed marketing of movies forever. Action figures took on a whole new life after SW

Furthermore, who cares if Lucas likes Disney, the corporation? Of course he does; he's always done business with them going back to the Star Tours days. Doesn't mean he's obligated to like their cheap bastardizations of his characters and stories anymore than I am.

And while we're quoting things, here's a little something for you to sink your teeth into: "So what it’s really about isn’t that there were changes, it’s that there were changes that they didn’t like. But are the changes actually that bad? Did Lucas somehow between 1983 and 1997 get dropped on his head, lose the part of his brain that had made these movies in the first place, and suddenly become an idiot? Or could it be that these people simply prefer the version that they saw when they were young and impressionable? Hmmmmm… Tough call."I challenge you to read the whole thing here, but I doubt you will. Cheers! Also, why would I "hate it" that Lucas made a bunch of sick action figures that defined my childhood? Jesus, you people are miserable and desperate.

That makes sense. DC and Marvel should be like the Jordan-era Bulls and Bird-era Celtics: friendly rivals. The better the movies are, the better the competition. The better the competition, the better the rivalry. The better the rivalry, the more money both sides make. It's a win-win. Exactly. It did used to be a friendly rivalry, too. There were even Marvel-DC crossovers at one point. Then the internet came... and the dark times followed... --which reminds me, does anyone else here remember " Amalgam Comics"? Curious, that, and it didn't entirely work, but I thought some of the ideas were fun...

I liked Amalagam Comics. It was a neat experiment, but I knew it wasn't going to last.
