I loved all the brilliant sequences which depicted the Emperor Palpatine coming back from the grave and finally establishing his presence in the galaxy.......
..... oh no, wait. It's just mentioned in the opening titles. Okay.

So, another "fan" pretending like there was any scenario which would have seen them satisfied and not crying about how Kathleen Kennedy "hates the fans".

I was ok with him returning, even if to me it really did not make much sense that he did.

They really messed up with that. I guess they were so desperate to give fans something to latch on to after TLJ that they revealed Palpitine in the first trailer, never mind the opening scroll.

I would've have a problem with the concept of the Emperor returning but it was ass pull after The Last Jedi killed Snoke. If they wanted to make it convincing they had to at least forshadow it or give a couple of hints in the previous films.

I thought it was pretty funny. The crawl should've just said "Whatever. We don't know anymore. You like Palpatine, right? Here he is! If this doesn't work we give up!"

If this doesn't work we give up!” Wasn’t a fan of them bringing the Emperor back either, but it did give us that hilariously pulpy (or pulpily hilarious) line: “THE DEAD SPEAK!”

That reminded me of "War! There are heroes on both sides!" from Episode III.
I like "The dead speak!" better.
Very serial-y. The Star Wars and Indiana Jones films were inspired by movie serials (aka chapter plays), after all.

I loved that those "brilliant sequences" were not in the movie.
