Not sure if anyone will know the answer to this question, but a few years ago I read a book about Brian De Palma that I can’t find anything about on the web. I don’t think it was interview-based; as far as I can remember, it had a chapter for every movie De Palma had made up to that point but focused mainly on the Hitchcockian thrillers.
It definitely had a chapter on Body Double and summarized the plot, and talked about symbolism when the killer throws the Craig Wasson character in the grave.
Not really that important to know the title, but the memory popped into my head when I was watching De Palma’s Phantom of the Paradise recently. I read it about 5-6 years ago, but it was probably published before that. Thanks!

Could one of these be the book?

Hm… The Double De Palma book seems familiar, jervistetch, so I’m going to say this is tentatively solved—thanks!
