Seinfeld - Puddy face painting for the Devils, Elaine refusing to remove her Orioles cap, George crashing into Bette Midler at the softball game, Roger McDowall as the 2nd spitter at the Mets game, George getting the Yankees to wear cotton...

It's from the series finale ( episode 19 ) of CAPRICA on Syfy. The climax took place at a huge stadium ( Atlas Arena ) Never saw it. Is there a sport being played or just the arena? Loved BSG. You may recall people practicing "Pyramid" on BSG. On CAPRICA, it is shown as professional sport, played on grass fields, in stadiums.

Ferris Bueller went to a Cubs game on his day off. Even caught a foul ball! Didn't Ferris wear a Red Wing jersey or am I thinking of a different character/movie? Of all those popular 80s teen movies that's one I never really got into for some reason.

That Lennox Lewis boxing moment in Ocean's 11 is kinda funny. Don't remember the scene. Only saw the movie once back then.

LOL all good ones. Seinfeld shirtless with one of the 'Devils' letters painted on his chest. Although not directly sports related there was Kramer slamming the table trying to get Mantle's attention and Keith Hernandez moving furniture(?). Wasn't Kramer a ball 'boy' at the US Open tennis tournament?
On an early episode of Friends Ross got a puck in the face at a Rangers game.

Yep, ball boy, and it was Joe Dimaggio Kramer was trying to annoy. Then there was Jerry's race where he cheated, and playing tennis badly for Milos to impress his wife.

The 1925 Harold Lloyd comedy "The Freshman", which I watched for the first time not long ago. The clueless protagonist goes to college with the goal of becoming popular. As part of his plan, he tries joining the football team. He is terrible, but the coach tells him that he's been accepted. In reality he is to serve as the water boy for the real players.
In the final minutes of the deciding game, one player after the other gets injured and has to be replaced, until there is nobody left on the bench but Harold. He goes in and naturally ends up scoring the winning touchdown. The whole sequence is very funny.

One of the best comedies I have ever seen is the Quebec movie "La Grande Seduction". A remote town with nearly 100% unemployment is trying to attract a new factory, but they will only set up shop there if the town has a doctor. So the town needs to find a doctor willing to settle there. A former resident who is now a cop in the big city stops a man for driving drunk and upon finding out that he is a doctor, "blackmails" him into going to that town for a few weeks. Now the town has to "seduce" him into falling in love with the place and deciding to stay, so that the factory can open.
The doctor is mad about cricket (which is a strange and unexplained plot point, as he is as Quebecois as everyone else), so one of the tactics they use is to pretend that the whole town also loves the sport. When the doctor first arrives in town on a boat, he sees the residents pretending to play cricket in the distance. He can hardly believe his eyes. As soon as the boat lands he rushes to the field, only to be told that the game just ended and it was the last game of the season.
Later he is at a packed bar and a cricket game is on TV. He is very excited about the game, and everybody else pretends to be too, even though they have no idea what is going on and think it is the most boring sport conceivable. When he goes to the bathroom, they change the channel to a hockey game and when a goal is scored they cheer loudly. The doctor comes rushing out and they quickly change the channel back. The doctor asks what happened and they struggle to come up with an explanation.
