It's....actually not too bad for a remake. I watched it on cable, and decided I must have it for my DVD collection. I had to search high and low for it, though. I ended up having to special order it from a client of ours.
Here's something I just discovered:
Troy Gentile played Matthew Hooper - the kid in the wheelchair. One may know Troy better as playing Barry Goldberg - the hyperactive older brother on "The Goldbergs".
In between The Bad News Bears and The Goldbergs, Troy must have lost a ****-ton of weight. Good for him!
As well, something I didn't know until a few years ago:
Sammy Kane Kraft, the girl who played Amanda, passed away. She died in a car crash.
