The DCAMU stands for the DC Animated Movie Universe. For anyone who doesn’t know what that is, it’s referring to a very specific continuity of animated DC movies that loosely started with Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox in 2013. Here’s the Wikipedia page for it. Anyway, it’s supposedly set to end next month with the release of Justice League Dark: Apokolips War. For anyone who’s watched at least a few of these movies, what do you think of it ending? Personally, I’m relieved about that. I’ve liked a few of the movies in this line, but generally, it didn’t do much for me. If DC is going to keep doing these direct to video animated movies, I’d rather they focus squarely on doing standalone movies with different animation styles.

I’m relieved too because now I feel like I actually have a shot at catching up. At the rate I’m going it’ll take years but whatever.
This is the best news I’ve gotten in a while.

I'm fine with it ending. I like the DC animated movies, but I'd prefer them as standalones anyhow. So I view this as a good thing.
By the way - weren't they supposed to be working on an animated movie adaptation of Batman: The Long Halloween?

I have no attachment to those movies though I've seen them all. I could hardly tell you which belonged to it.
I so know the movies did start going downhill with that though and wasn't a fan of how the animation and humour was all kind of the same mediocre quality.

I kind of stopped about half way through. Not that it was bad it just didn't continue to capture me and then kind of forgot about it.

Not too bothered, I like the animated universe myself but at the same time I think it was a little poorly executed, too much singular Batman focus not enough on the other characters, I would have loved to have seen a Nightwing or Batgirl solo movie let alone get some Superboy, Aquaman, Green Lantern an actual Flash specific movie or more than 1 Wonder Woman movie.
Going forward I wouldn't mind if they redo a animated universe but either actually spread it out or leave it as ensemble movies and only do 1 a year, then do 1 or 2 stand alone unconnected films a year also, so we can get our stand alone movies about our favourite characters and then the universe films deal with the DC universe as it is, best of both worlds imo.
