Both programs debuted in 2019 and both try to portray themes like coming of age in different ways. They are entertaining to wach, but I would`t call them very realistic, while Sex Education is more of trying to be a comedy, Euphoria is more trying to be dark and twisted. What are your opinions?

Why won’t you use the proboards poll function?
I really love both but I think I have to give the edge to Euphoria. Partly because I just finished re-watching it a couple days ago so it’s fresher in my mind, but I also think it has a stronger cast (an especially stronger antagonist) and a more compelling plot.
Both suffer from mediocre season finales.

Euphoria is not a “teen” series; more like a series about a few twisted teens.

Euphoria is not a “teen” movie; more like a movie about a few twisted teens. I agree that it`s not a teen movie, but a Series

Sex Education was funny here and there, but not very relatable or realistic. Season 1 was a little better, Season 2 felt as it was mostly filler.
and one of the few things Euphoria is good at is camera movements and visuals.

Also why is Sex Education look like it is set in a 1980s US High School ? 🙂

Also why is Sex Education look like it is set in a 1980s US High School ? 🙂 80's nostalgia maybe? The show clearly takes some inspiration from the John Hughes movies. Still it's a bit of a anachronist stew. The cars look from the 80's but it has modern smartphones.

While Euphoria is good at camera movements and visuals, it feels like they took various real high school scandal headlines and applied all of them to one group of high school kids at one school in one school year. It tries too hard to provoke and shock and it seems to think its quite edgy…its all too much in the face and dramatically forced for me. It felt like they dont really know what they want to point out and what they have to say.
Sex Education can be entertaining here and there, but for me it tries too hard to be witty and quirky, Season 1 was a little better, Season 2 felt as it was mostly filler. The only character that had a little growth this Season was Groff Adam, however the outing scene at the prom was ridiculous. Same as the stereotypical feminist portrayal that is Maeve.

What about Euphoria feels shocking though? I knew all of those kids in high school.
