What about Euphoria feels shocking though? I knew all of those kids in high school. It tries to be shocking with all that sexual fetishes stuff and violence, but that`s HBO.Β What fetishes? I honestly canβt even remember. Thereβs some rough sex and cam work but nothing too shocking. I didnβt think Euphoria was terribly violent either.

What Teen TV Series do you prefer, which is better?
and discuss.
I liked Sex Education. And I'm waiting for the next season. Euphoria seemed too "druggy" to me. I started watching it. Didn't like it.

But it's entertaining. Critcisms; - It's taking too long for Maeve and Otis to get together. That's an unrealistic contrivance. - "I never knew Britain was so sunny and warm." It seems like it was filmed in Southern California. - There are strong gay themes. Seems like another case of "homosexuality being shoved down the viewer's throats".

I often feel writers fall back on formula and stereotypes. I find normal people and normal life interesting. Often the conflict I see in movies and TV shows only exist in movies and TV shows.

You should check out Skam if you haven`t, it`s the best and most realistic portrayal of teenage characters life I have seen.

If they don't get together during season 3, I'm out.

It's more about writing contrivances than personal preferences. Otis likes Maeve, Maeve likes Otis. That much is clear in the show. At this point with Isaac deleting Otis message, the writers are trying to find excuses to keep them apart from each other.

While Euphoria is good at camera movements and visuals, it feels like they took various real high school scandal headlines and applied all of them to one group of high school kids at one school in one school year. It tries too hard to provoke and shock and it seems to think its quite edgyβ¦its all too much in the face and dramatically forced for me. It felt like they dont really know what they want to point out and what they have to say. Sex Education can be entertaining here and there, but for me it tries too hard to be witty and quirky, Season 1 was a little better, Season 2 felt as it was mostly filler. The only character that had a little growth this Season was Groff Adam, however the outing scene at the prom was ridiculous. Same as the stereotypical feminist portrayal that is Maeve. Like I said, Euphoria was too druggy for me. I'm not continuing to watch. Sex Education is good. But I don't think it's realistic. Too much quirky and outragious sex. Too much "inclusion" of people that are not as numerous or common in real life. Generally speaking, movies and TV shows have too much forced inclusion. The number of gays and people of color in movies and TV shows is greater than the number of gays and people of color in real life. It's being rammed down our throats by Social Justice Warriors, and the pressure they put on "Hollywood". It's offensive to people who aren't gay, or a person of color. Even if they are not racist or sexist. Even to those who are equally accepting of gays and people of color. Too much is too much.

I would more enjoy seeing her in a healthy love affair with anybody who liked her. Including Otis. But it seems "Hollywood" thinks --- or knows --- the public more enjoys seeing them tortured by ridiculous and unbelievable misunderstandings, and never getting together.

I agree on what your wrote, though I think it's also offensive to gay people and persons of color as they are mostly not portrayed very well or carefully. They mostly reduce these characters to their sexuality and/or play the racism/discrimination card.

I know lots of gay people. Most are not flaming or extreme. They are just normal people. At least now, black people are being portrayed as educated law abiding people. Before, every black person in movies and TV shows was an uneducated criminal gang member.
