Do you like the band Eels?
I completely lost track of them after the first couple of albums, 'Beautiful Freak' (1996) and 'Electro-Shock Blues' (1998). Might have heards some songs since on movie soundtracks.
I think they were a project for multi-instrumentalist E (Mark Oliver Everett), aka. MC Honky.

This is one of my favorites from him. This song always makes me feel better!

Everett's auto biography is a fascinating read, living in the shadow of his famous physicist father. Of late he has become more and more maudlin on record following a break up, needs to cheer up a bit.

I do. What reconnected me to them is an interesting story.
Playing a game on my iPad (WordScapes?), and there was a puzzle of 7 letters. And, there were no 3 letter words accepted.
Last word that I had to discover?
Eels.
I then started thinking of the song "Novocaine For The Soul" (for some reason).
