I loved Xena, even some of the filler eps were fun. Final season was a letdown though. Total letdown. Tapert just became such an asshole and like Peter Jackson with the Hobbit trilogy and George Lucas with Star Wars, he got so stupid and ran it all off the tracks. I actually liked a lot of the final season. I just think the finale with an unconnected plot out of left field was a letdown....

I never seen it but i liked Lucy Lawless in Spartacus TV series. Spartacus had a lot of the same cast and crew as Herc/ Xena. It was a very different show from the other two, but I love all three. Although I still think it was a missed opportunity not to have a Kevin Sorbo cameo as an opponent in the arena or something like that.

Unfortunately he burned bridges with Rob Tapert after Hercules. I'm pretty sure that's why Sorbo never got a cameo in Legend of the Seeker or Spartacus. There were rumors of Sorbo actually re-uniting with Raimi/Tapert for a new series a few years back, but nothing ever came of it. I was hoping it meant they'd reconciled....

Michael Hurst (Iolaus) made cameos in both, so I don't see an issue....

I think Rob wanted to make his Xena movie and used the finale as the last chance to make it at the expense of the established plot. I remember listening to some of the commentary and he describes it as a movie. I loved the soundtrack of it. It was epic and mystical but that's about it.

It has more 10/10 episodes than other seasons (The Rheingold, The Ring, Return of the Valkyrie, When Fates Collide etc.) and Livia/Eve is my favorite character.

Yeah everything was on par except the plot and the fact that he went totally off the plot of the whole series. I especially like the commentary here and Whoosh is a major link in another site I belong to.

I like most of the episodes, but always felt they were so out of place because of the time frame they all happened in and that so much was unresolved. Thanks to Ares, in a way. But the finale. I hated it.

I still have the DVD of the finale where it's presented as a movie. Yeah, looking back, I wish they'd done a real finale to wrap up the major plotlines, then made a movie if they were able to. I also wish they didn't try to strong arm Sorbo into a 3 season commitment so we could have had a better final season of Hercules....
