What athletes have gotten screwed out of the Hall of Fame in their respective sport?
I'll go first.

AFL- Saverio Rocca. I've made this comparision numerous times. Steve Kernahan kicked 751 goals in 248 games and is in the HoF. Rocca kicked 748 goals in 257 and isn't. Kernahan played with an armada of HoF mids. Sav played with 2. Are they that annoyed he retired to get paid more as a punter for Philadelphia than any AFL club could offer him?

Somehow I'm not in the volleyball hall of fame, despite clearly being the greatest amateur player Massachusetts has ever produced. Though having been there, I'm pretty sure I could convince them to give me my own wing if I slipped a $50 bill to the right person.

I remember Rocca as the Eagles punter circa 2007 or so

Pete Rose!
Say what you want about Carlos Delgado but he got bounced off the ballot after his first year of eligibility, which is absurd. Guy went .280/.383/..546 (.929) with 473 HRs and over 1,500 RBI. Stacks up well against his peers too with a 138 career OPS+. Talk about offensive eras, roids, whatever, to get knocked off the ballot after one year is stupid. For a good decade, he was a lock for 38 HR, 115 RBI.
He had the unfortunate luck of being on a stacked ballot that saw Randy Johnson, Pedro Martinez, John Smoltz and Craig Biggio get inducted, but also saw Mike Piazza, Jeff Bagwell, Tim Raines, Curt Schilling, Roger Clemens, Barry Bonds, Lee Smith Edgar Martinez, Alan Trammel, Mike Mussina, Jeff Kent, Larry Walker, Fred McGriff and a slew of others on the ballot. As writers are limited to 10 votes, Delgado unfortunately didn't make the cut for most. If they revamped this stupid, arcane system, Delgado wouldn't have been so unceremoniously cut from the ballot. Whether he would have made it or not, you can make an argument either way, but he totally got screwed.

Interesting.
Just looked him up on Wiki real quick.
His numbers look similar to Kent Hrbek who I brought up in another thread - but I noticed he managed too.
States he was a very good defensive player.

Barry Bonds, et al.
MLB knew they were using, and let them, in order to sell more product.

Looking solely at his stats he is admittedly borderline. But he was a leader on an elite team as a player, and he also deserves consideration for his managerial career which included managing the ‘69 Miracle Mets. Taken as a whole I think that’s enough to get him in.

What about Liz? (RIP)
Sadly this is what Luger looks like today. He's found God though and is an inspiration to many with a glowing positive grateful/thankful personality -

Personally, I think there are more guys in Halls of Fame that shouldn't be than guys who aren't in that should be. More Harold Baines, fewer Gil Hodges
