Personally, I think there are more guys in Halls of Fame that shouldn't be than guys who aren't in that should be. More Harold Baines, fewer Gil Hodges Agreed - Thurman Thomas and Andre Reed come to mind - good players - yes - but not the elite of the elite I don’t have an issue with Thurman Thomas. Reed seemed an iffy choice to me.

My criteria for HOF consideration is you have to be considered Top 10 of All-Time at your respective position.
Doesn't mean you have to crack the Top 10 as this is subjective anyway - but just in the conversation and your stats/resume is comparable.
Doesn't mean that there should only be 10 or so players chosen for that one position - there could be 50 - who knows - pick a # - but the #s have to be comparable to the Elite of the Elite

Yes - and as you and I have stated - there's too many in there.
It has to be thinned out - to the elite of the elite.
Only the elite should be considered for the Hall.

I'm not aware of any.
There were rumors of Jimmy Snuka being thrown out for murdering his girlfriend.
And whispers of Carlos Colon for being involved in the Bruiser Brody death
But these never came to fruition - and Colon's induction was fairly recent if memory serves.

Fewer yards maybe but those were all-time greats at their position. I just don’t think that Reed had as big of an impact as those guys you mentioned. Not saying he wasn’t good, just Hall Of Pretty Good worthy.

You realize that a wrestling hall of fame is meaningless right? I mean you do know that right?

Shoeless Joe Jackson. Hes paid long enough for what he was involved in. If you join an organization that has one rule. If you break that one rule, you will be banned forever. If you go ahead and break that rule you should be banned from the game. Fuck Jackson, fuck the other seven Black Sox and fuck Pete Rose

Ridiculous. What he did was over 100 years ago; even some murderers get paroled.

My struggle with Pete Rose has been similar to that of OJ and Chris Benoit
Should his off the field demeanor/actions/behavior - no matter how heinous it is - have any baring on the Hall and what he's accomplished on the field.
I couldn't care less that he gambled (I think he gambled against the Reds - easier to win money that way) - my problem was always the court settlement with the underage child - but I'm trying to stay positive during this time and would rather not think about the ugliness in the world today

Baseball HOF voters are told to consider off-field actions and character when weighing how to vote. Football doesn’t do that. OJ for example, if he wasn’t already in the HOF, would be voted in because clearly he was an all-time great running back. Rose could have raped the ball girl on 2nd base in a sold out stadium and it’s irrelevant, he gambled on baseball. Rose is essentially Donald Trump, here’s his progression: - I never bet on baseball. - I bet on baseball but never games I was involved in. - I bet on Reds games but only on them to win. - I bet on the Reds.

I second Gil Hodges. One can understand why Pete Rose is not there, though I believe he should be. I never understand why Gil Hodges is not. His number is good enough for consideration, and he was part of the Brooklyn Dodgers' only championship and LA Dodgers' first. His managerial resume with the 1969 Mets should have been an icing to the cake.

The only injustice is that those greedy pricks never went to jail
