In my opinion i would have to say that i think Game of Thrones is the better show.
But i don`t really think you can compare those shows as they are very different shows.

Game of Thrones is not just better, it's far better. It is better written, produced, and acted.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer is the better Series overall, it has some of the best written and fleshed out characters on TV ever, it knew it`s vision and what it`s doing and what it wants to tell. It`s richness and complexity can be experienced with Episodes like The Body, Restless or Hush, they are Arthouse TV. Though the first 3 Seasons of Game of Thrones are more consistent than any Season of Buffy.

I never really got the appeal of Buffy. I only watched a few episodes so Game of Thrones for me.

Definitely 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer.' Only saw part of one episode of 'Game of Thrones' and didn't find it or the Medieval setting very interesting but 'Buffy' is one of my all time favourite shows along with the spinoff, 'Angel' and am a big Horror fan.

So you have never seen Game of Thrones but Buffy is "definitely" better? Okay. Game of Thrones is better written, acted, and produced and that is not even a debate.

Game of Thrones has better characters: Jaime, Tyrion, Cersei, Arya, Ned, Tywin, The Hound, etc. It has some of the best characters ever on television.
Buffy is cool and all and has great moments throughout the show, but also has tons of filler, monster of the week episodes, and cheese. Game of Thrones was nearly perfect for six straight seasons.

Yes it seriously is - just look at the poll results. Buffy is the more innovative, creative and groundbreaking series, there is a reason why they make studies about it and it`s writing and language. The character development is more subtle, even in the "Filler"/"Monster of the Week Episodes" you can see the delicate character features and dynamics. In Game of Thrones the character development got really poor after Season 4, there was nobody I cared anymore, they just all got so flat. And as for the Hound, he became one of the most annoying characters ever brought to tv.

Buffy is lighter and less polished, so be dismissed as the inferior show by most.
I watched more of Buffy, but never finished it. I watched the entire first season of GoT and many clips on YouTube. GoT did nothing for me. I mean, NOTHING. There's just so much going on with the nonstop sex and violence that you become number to it after a few episodes. There was no tension at all because it's 10/10 all the time. It's all tits, rape, and blood.

I far prefer Angel to both of them. I know it wasn't part of the question but it is in the Buffyverse

I never did watch Buffy. Maybe I’ll see if it’s on the Hulu’s or the Netflixes.

GoT but Buffy has one advantage. It didn't shit all over its fans at the end

GoT did have the better budget and was amazingly good for its first five seasons. Untouchable. But Buffy will always be my favorite show. So that gets my vote easily.
