Every year my wife and I avidly follow MotoGP, World Superbikes, British Superbikes, F1 and i follow Indy Car.
As a kid F1 was the only televised Motorsport as far as i can remember and my dad got me into watching it in the mid 80's. He used to be a biker and we went to our local track to watch the British championship around the same time and we got Sky TV as soon as it was available around 1990 so we could watch Grand Prix and Superbike racing and i haven't missed a race since.
The lack of racing has left a gaping hole in our lives and we look forward to it getting going again after the lock downs end.
Are there any other racing fans here?

I've tried numerous times to have Daytona/Indy threads in here and educate them on racing - however they're having none of it.

BT Sport televised the Indy Car championship last year and it was the first time i watched a whole season since the early 90's when Mansell switched to it. Great racing, i thoroughly enjoyed it. I haven't seen a Nascar season in a long time though

Yes. Me, hitchcockthelegend and TheSowIsMine regularly post on formula 1 races. I am a McLaren fan and a Ferrari hater. Mika Häkkinen was fav. Have developed respect for Lewis over the years and don't mind either him or Max win races.

I used to be a big sim racer and drove Grand Prix Legends a lot so I ended up reading about F1's early days so i'm fairly clued up on F1. I'm not ashamed to say i'm a Lewis fan but having said that i don't really dislike any of the drivers now or in the past. I just love racing.

I am. I started threads this year on the World Superbikes and Australian V8s amd would have done the same with the MotoGP. No replies, but I was going to keep going. I don't participate much in the F1 thread as I'm rarely able to watch them live. Ditto with Daytona and IndyCar. I do stream the races in full when I've got yime to watvh them. Bloody heart breaking that Holden's last season in existence is a non starter. Australia's most successful manufacturer going out with a whimper.

Yep, as Aj said, there is a few of us who follow the F1 season so be sure to join us on the long running thread when we get back to racing again > IMDB2.freeforums.net/post/2824132/threadI'm also a big Speedway fan, not the American cars - with Elvis Presley in the movie - but the bike kind, that as a Brit I would hope you know what I am on about, just in case no, here's Bomber Harris winning the British Grand Prix at Cardiff 2007 - I was there >

I've never followed tin top racing but i've caught some highlights over the years especially Bathurst so i've no idea about the Holden situation. MotoGP is my preferred watch probably followed by F1. Those are the two I have the most knowledge of and miss the most.

I follow F1 and F2. I was about to watch a few Indycar races, because of Rinus van Kalmthout(Veekay) joining.

I quite like F1 qualifying actually. Everyone going full out. Alas, the actual races have barely enough real action for me, & the same teams/drivers usually prevail, by being too safe no less.
I was a pretty big CART fan back in the day. IRL still seems to be making it up as they go.
Indianapolis 500 ought to be a global open race. I want a handful of drivers from each IRL, F1, & NASCAR.

Glad to see there are more Motorsport fans around.
TheSnowIsMine: I hadn't checked who is driving for who in Indy Car. I was going to before the first race but it was cancelled. Rinus isn't someone I'm familiar with but i tend to cheer on the rookies so i'm sure i would have followed him had the season got underway. By the end of last year i was a fan of Ferrucci and we followed the progress of Jack Harvey because my wifes family knows his and he grew up not far from us.
twothousandonemark: MotoGP is where the racing action is. F1 for me is more about the technology, the people, the cars, the glamour, the spectacle, the strategies, the history and the anticipation of some great racing.

Loved F1 when there was real characters in it, not so much now.
