Loved F1 when there was real characters in it, not so much now. How far back is it that Zos? They're all too nice to each other now. Seb vs everyone else at Ferrari is the only one you can have any fun with. Main reason I'm following the Superbikes more at the moment is that there is a lot more intrigue in the title race. We may see Quartararo seriously challenge Marquez in about 2 or 3 years time, but it will remain a one horse race until then unless he's unable to ride for whatever reason. Now there's a lot of entertainment value in watching one of the greatest of all time dominate, but in the Superbikes you've got Raz, Lowes and Bautista all ready to seriously challenge Jonathan Rea. The Irishman may well make it 6 in a row this year, but he's not going to have it all his own way. And the Holden situation is that GM are getting out of manufacturing cars that drive on the left hand side of the road, so Holden's done. This will impact some iconic British and Asian brands too eventually. Also means that other manufacturers are going to need to step in rather than replacing them with right hand drive Chevrolets.

They are in front of the cameras but there is plenty going on behind the scenes which can be read about. But yes i agree that F1 is a bit too politically correct these days. MotoGP has been where the best action has been for quite a few years. Quartararo is indeed an exciting prospect. What he did last year was amazing and my mouth waters at the prospect of him and Marquez battling it out over the next few seasons. The Lowes twins grew up in my home town and my house mate in my bachelor days was their web designer back when they were in a team called Double Vision Racing ran by their dad so i was around them a bit in the early days. Then i met a girl who's dad was a mechanic in a World Supersport team then British Superbikes. She's now my wife and we got to know a fair amount of people in the paddock so i still have a real keen interest in Superbikes even if the racing hasn't been as good as the heyday recently. Rea's dominance has been a pleasure to watch but we've always cheered for the riders we know. I think Rea can get a couple more titles over the few years. That's a shame about Holden.

Yes there were plenty of characters about then but i've like some of them since then too. Webber usually said whatever he wanted. Danny Ric and Max Verstappen are likeable characters. Jensen Button was a favourite of ours. The rule changes earmarked for 2021 looked like they were going to help level the playing field and make the racing closer, hopefully that will be the case.
