My fiance and I are currently binging BTVS and he's new to it ergo extra fun! I'm amazed by how many things I pick up even after viewing it so many times! Some things I'm pretty sure I had known/noticed but simply forgotten, others I'm not so sure. For instance, we just watched The Wish and I don't remember the person (alive then later, dead) in the metal cage in the Bronze being JONATHAN. Anyone else surprised about anything during a rewatch? EDIT: The scene I'm referencing is at approimately the 21:30 mark. On closer inspection, I realize that it was NOT Jonathan. My eyes are bad, and I apologize for the confusion. I do think that the actual thread idea is worthwhile, however, in case anyone else wants to play....

Huh, I'm not sure I've caught that in The Wish before. I don't know if it was intentional, but when I watched "Surprised" again recently, I realized there was a bit of irony in Jenny asking if someone could give her "a hand" with the crate she was carrying into the Bronze.....which contained a hand.... There are others, I'm sure, that just aren't coming to mind. I try to post observations when they come to; as you've seen. It does amaze me that after over a decade of watching and re-watching this series and Angel how there are still new things to pick up on or new ideas to think about.

Here's one I noticed - in season 5, after Joyce's surgery is successfully completed and everyone is ecstatic and hugging, you see Xander and Giles behind everyone about to hug, then decide not to. It's arguably not an Easter egg type thing, because while they're technically in the foreground, they're in full focus and the gag was probably meant to be noticed. But, something I noticed more recently, re-watching The Body, is that when everyone is at the hospital consoling each other, the scene itself is very similar to the earlier scene, but emotionally inverted; and this time Xander and Giles actually hug.

Huh, I'm not sure I've caught that in The Wish before. Here's the reason you didn't catch it -- it wasn't Jonathan. It's at approximately 21:30. Looking at it closer today, I believe that it was a different actor. I'm going to edit my post. It's kind of a shame, too. Since Jonathan was in the episode, my mistake now seems like a missed opportunity.... I'll resond to the rest later, for now please accept my apology for the incorrect assertion.

It's weird for me because each time I rewatch, different things stick out to me. And on this particular rewatch, Xander has been bugging me just a tiny bit more than normal.

I will have to look for that when I get there. Thanks for the heads-up!

Oddly enough, I HAD noticed that this time around. It was one of those odd things that I thought was "new" to me and was part of the collective reason why I started this thread. Good catch!

We just watched Bad Girls with Balthazar, the stairmaster-needing tub demon who gets cooked and I noticed A LOT. I might put it into its own thread, however, as I don't recall reading many discussions about it.

It just occurred to me that the show displayed some nice continuity with Faith stealing Buffy's food in her first episode from Season 3 ('Faith, Hope & Trick') and then continuing to do so when Andrew caught her stealing his food in one of the last few episodes of Season 7 (I can’t remember which one exactly). Of course, it could’ve just been a happy coincidence...but I like to think the writers intended to show that Faith can’t be trusted around other people’s food.
