Finished the Facebook "challenge" It was tough because it wasn't necessarily albums I loved, they had to influence what came after, and many of my earliest influences and most import influences were 45 rpm singles.
In some cases the album just made me continue buying the artist's music, in other cases it opened up a genre.
The 10. Don't feel like posting the covers.
Rubber Soul (U.S. Capitol LP) - The Beatles Tommy - The Who Benefit - Jethro Tull This Year's Model - Elvis Costello Graceland - Paul Simon Afro-Rhythmes Presente - Pepe-Kalle Europe '72 - The Grateful Dead Everybody Knows This is Nowhere - Neil Young Abraxas - Santana Meddle - Pink Floyd
Honorable Mention:
Drums of Passion: The Beat - Babatunde Olatunji Disraeli Gears - Cream The Doors - The Doors Catch a Fire - Bob Marley '77 - Talking Heads Parsley Sage Rosemary and Thyme - Simon & Garfunkel The Yes Album - Yes Tea For the Tillerman - Cat Stevens Nursery Cryme - Genesis
Edit: How could I leave off Sgt Pepper? Ack.

NJtoTX Perhaps silly question, but what qualifies as "vinyl era"? If specific time period, OK to include even if heard on cassette?

NJtoTX Perhaps silly question, but what qualifies as "vinyl era"? If specific time period, OK to include even if heard on cassette? Well, that was what was presented to me. Sometime pre-1990? Or whenever CD sales started dominating.
