Cool list. I might have to do one of my own. I'd have to reflect. Two players that immediately leap to mind is Joe Montana and Ndamukong Suh. Montana had guts and Suh was the one player I've seen that absolutely terrified opponents What, no Brian Bosworth? Ryan Leaf, JaMarcus Russell, Tony Mandarich, Akili Smith, Trent Richardson, and Ki-Jana Carter make my list. Other than Russell, every one of those players were amazing college stars. Mandarich was the most dominant lineman I've ever seen, college or pro. A lot of experts said that Dallas should have taken Mandarich instead of Aikman. But he could load up on the steroids at Michigan State and not in the NFL. Ki-Jana got hurt. Their shitty attitudes wrecked Leaf and Russell.

Eye test NCAAF players I've watched... 1. Charlie Ward 2. Reggie Bush 3. Cam Newton 4. Charles Woodson 5. Joe Burrow 6. Michael Vick 7. Vince Young 8. Ricky Williams 9. Peyton Manning 10.Tim Tebow Cool list. I might have to do one of my own. I'd have to reflect. Two players that immediately leap to mind is Joe Montana and Ndamukong Suh. What, no Brian Bosworth?
I know my FSU bias has Ward likely too high for most, yet that championship season he was doing Steph Curry things to everything in front of him. He was a cheat code who broke the game that year. As my only pre-93 exposure to the college game was as an SI reader, I never earlier than that got into the players until they were in the NFL, it was more about team coverage & the likes of Tee Martin & Eric Crouch always made me hesitate on true greatness.

Sports Illustrated was always more glam than substance. My father subscribed to The Sporting News which had a lot more stats. The big one for me was the preview magazines. The Sporting News, Street & Smith and later Athlon. They were awesome. Came out in late July or early August and got you fired for the season. There were one for college and pro football, College Basketball and Baseball. A casualty of the internet.

Yep, I knew the end was nigh once The Sporting New ceded to Street & Smith... & then without warning, ceased altogether. Lundy's (or Athlon?) I think has a religious feature which was insta garbage for me.

The title track also closes that album it's fantastic!

The title track also closes that album it's fantastic! Are You Experienced was my favorite of his. The US version has his three big singles, Purple Haze, Wind Cries Mary and Hey Joe, which the UK doesn't. All three of the first albums are classics. I didn't care for Band of Gypsies that much. Mitch Mitchell and Noel Redding were amazing musicians, taken too lightly next to James Marshall I hated it when Voodoo Child came on in someone house and the younger family members would scream "Hulk Hogan!" Yuck
