I just saw it today. It's a fun enjoyable movie. The first movie does some things better than this movie. And the second does some things better than the first. Overall I felt very positive about it. Cool, man. Glad you had a good time. Would you elaborate -- in a broad and spoiler-free manner -- on the way(s) in which you think the sequel is superior? Ways Vol2 is superior characters development villain Drax Ways Vol1 is superior script and story pacing soundtrack team dynamics

I just enjoy undermining these hipster shitheads on here, who have this hilariously myopic view of the world and derive some personal victory if some generic, specious-at-best aggregator web site scores their precious movies well or the films make a ton of money at the box office, all the while being strangely smug and elitist assholes and pretending as though the films are transcendent contributions to the grand canon of human art when the reality is they're essentially Transformers movies with slightly better source material. TL; DR: I'm just joshin' these dorks, mang.

Just watched it today and I was pleasantly surprised. Based on the first reviews and the negative points in some reviews I expected to give this movie a 6/10 or so. But I really liked it: all the characters are great, the story is always interesting and the villain is pretty good. It's also one of the most emotional MCU movies to date, at least for me. I'd probably give it an 8/10.

Best parts of the movie are Drax, Yondu and the opening titles.

I think the standout character was Yondu, even though I didn't really find him interesting in the first movie. I also really liked the opening titles, probably because I love Mr. Blue Sky.

TL; DR: I'm just joshin' these dorks, mang. The critic fans do make me wonder. I turn 57 in less than a month & have been into horror/fantasy/comics as far back as I can remember. I remember sitting on my father's lap watching the Addams Family, plugging my ears when Lurch spoke because it scared me. I can't remember if I read Cap & Thor comic books because I watched Marvel Super Heroes in 1966 or if I watched because I was reading the comics. I remember waiting in the car with my sister while mom shopped for groceries (shopping was boring) while my sister told me folklore or ghost stories. Critics did not like my movies. The shows I watched like 6 Million Dollar Man were dismissed as drivel. I had to learn how to pick my movies from the trailers because the zines-Fangoria, Starlog, Famous Monsters-praised all the genre stuff because there was so little of it. So yeah, I'm loving it. My theory on why Marvel never really took off until this century is the powers aren't the sort that worked pre-CGI. We needed computer graphics to make them as awesome as the comics. That 70s Spiderman with Nicholas ammond was bad. The wall crawling was horrible. Batman & Superman were low-tech movie tricks, easy to pull off with standard stuntwork.
